I have all the scum ships and fly them often. Flying two IG-88s, or four BTL Y-Wings are both very competitive builds that make lots of tournaments. I rarely fly the same list twice because I like to experiment. Scum ships are fun because they are so disruptive. They are constantly stealing tokens or blowing up to take out other ships or just being insanely aggressive and dealing out tons of damage with very little defense.

The rest of Wave VIII is shipping, you nerf herders.

Now I'm interested in scum and villainy packs

I haven't used Palps, but flying him on a shuttle with two other aces as wingmen (Vader and Fel, or Whisper) is apparently picking up steam at tourneys.

Honestly, I buy everything just because I like to try it all out. I mix it up a lot between ships, factions, metas, etc. The number crunchers of the hobby really speak well of the emerging Scum meta, which is to cause damage by sacrificing damage.

Sounds exactly like the play style I love doing in games. Having focused on what to get yet though. Some more research is in order as I don't want to blind purchase anymore. That's how it ended up with 14 xwings.....and I don't even like playing Rebels. Rebel Scum....

So actually going to think it out and buy what sounds fun only...at least initially. Xwing is not my only game I invest in so I need to pump the brakes a bit on it.

Who knew that miniature and board gaming could shoot up in cost so fast?!

I do think that X-Wing is pretty reasonable in cost, especially since they are prepainted. Plus, honestly, you could probably get half your money back in resale. Maybe not for the X-Wings, but overall.

I've been running Palpatine in a Decimator piloted by Cpt Oicunn and Mara Jade as additional crew and armed with proton bombs and intimidation skill. I flank Howlrunner and Backstabber in TIES to either side and use swarm tactics on Howlrunner to raise my pilot skill on the Decimator to 8. I ram with the Decimator mostly and if I fail to pull it off those two TIES are close enough to cause trouble and concern.

Same. The meta has completely changed and all the people I know that played casually are gone, so only the hardcore competitive folk are left methinks. Not my cup of tea.
