You cannot believe anything Zimmerman says Trayvon said before his death. He could be telling the truth, but there is no way to know. I seriously doubt he said "you are going to die tonight" for some reason...

There is nothing. Nobody butt george (pronounced Hoar-heh) knows what happened. All these "witnesses" are all of a sudden more detailed during the trial than they were when they were questioned during the incident.

That's exactly the point. It's up to the jury to decide if Zimmerman's account and the police report are accurate.

Zimmerman is the only witness to what happened. He claimed that Trayvon physically jumped him as he was walking back to his vehicle, got on top of him, and started beating him up...and in the midst of the tussle, Zimmerman's gun became visible on his waist. Trayvon then (according to Zimmerman) said, "You're gonna die tonight," and reached for the gun, at which point Zimmerman grabbed the gun first and dispatched Trayvon. If Zimmerman and the police report are 100% truthful, then I can find no fault in how Zimmerman handled the physical altercation. He did not engage Trayvon with the gun until Trayvon attempted to engage him with it.

zimmerman's the only witness because he killed the other one, so the jury's got to take that into account

From the original stories after it happened, GZ was coming back to his neighborhood in his vehicle and saw TM digging through trashcans and he was dressed similarly to people that had been seen stealing in the area before. He called 911 and told them someone suspicious was in his neighborhood (which he had done in the past a few times) and that he was following him (he had since exited his vehicle). 911 said that wasn't necessary, but he did it anyway. He continued to follow TM, then gave up and that's when TM (who had apparently realized he was being followed) confronted him asking him "What's your problem?!". Then TM punched GZ, knocking him down, and then TM got on top of him, they wrestled a bit, TM (still on top) started beating his head on the ground. At some point in all of this, TM (having realized GZ had his personal sidearm on him) said he was going to kill him. GZ got free enough to pull the gun , put it against TM's body and fire. Killing him with a single round fired.

There was screaming, and witnesses recollections, and the like that sort of back the story up. Also, GZ's wounds back his story up. And, TM had a history of theft and violence both in and out of school.

The media definitely tried their best to frame this as a white-vs-black and little, tiny kid being killed by a big, giant, mean mexi-honkie.

You can't convict someone based solely on conjecture contrary to the living witness' account. There needs to be incontrovertible evidence to the contrary, and it's simply not there.

So it's not on tape then.

As for believing it or not, the facts tend to point to him being right. He was wounded, just like he would have been in a fight like he described. The victim had a record of violence, drugs and theft, which adds to the probability that he would have attacked someone as he supposedly did. His being black is 0% of the equation.

Although, if GZ is found guilty due to ACTUAL evidence and not the crap the media tried to put out there, then I applaud that. If he's found innocent, I applaud that, too. In the end, it affects my life exactly zero.

That's the problem...one of the witnesses who saw part of the struggle said she thought the bigger person was on top and that it could not have been Trayvon because he seemed so small in the pictures she saw on the news. The news at that time was ONLY showing Trayvon photos that were several years old.

png's right. There are reasonable explanations for either scenario, and there are bad things weighing against both the victim and the accused. That's why if he's convicted on anything it will probably be a lesser charge than murder because the burden is much lower to convict on that.

It's pretty hard to get the back of your head gashed up and bruised like that without it being beaten with a something, or beaten against something.

The story about having his head bashed into the ground is pretty hard to refute unless the alternative is he got beaten in the back of the head with something not later found at the scene.

True. However, the law reads that if you suck at fighting and the result is you're getting your head bashed in and are in fear of getting killed, then it is legal to defend yourself.

This is a tough case, but there's simply not enough evidence to convict by a longshot.

from what I've heard, no, there's not any factual evidence from when TM told the chick on the phone that a "crazy-ass cracka" was following him and he started attacking GZ (according to GZ).

It's all hearsay, and faulty witness testimony I believe.

But, if you watched the initial reporting by the craptastic media, this is the initial picture they painted:

Because that's what Zimmerman told them. The police weren't there to see what happened.

Well, verbal harassment doesn't allow you to start trying to beat someone to death, so, I'd say the actual "agressor" is the aggressor.

And, GZ didn't verbally harass anyone. Following someone, while maybe overzealous, isn't carte blanche to attack them.
