energy from what i have noticed from the few other big 12 schools i have visited(ut,tt,mizzou) is that greek life here is completely different, the percentage of people is far lower and rather then a bunch of the normal college guys that you would imagine it to be it tends to be the more dewshchy, boat shoe & columbia fishing shirt crowd

Most of the fraternities at A&M tend to have their roots in the South as well, again it's just a lower percentage than at other schools. That is why fraternities are so popular in the SEC. LSU, Arkansas, Bama, etc. are some of the biggest Greek schools in the nation. For example, Jerry Jones is a Kappa Sig from Arkansas.

And I suppose the reason I find all this so ironic is that my entire life I have been used to getting made fun of for being an Aggie. Now that I am around a bunch of my own kind, I'm now made fun of for being from Dallas as well as being in a fraternity. Oh well, that's life I suppose.

I think it's actually less than 1 in 5. When I started school at Tech I thought it was closer to what you said too. It probably comes from the fact that the Greeks are so heavily represented in things like student government.

Here is my 2 cents.

I was a business major and had to deal with everyone being in a frat of sorority.

Once I got to know most of my classmates we became friends, and 98% of the frat people were nice to me, really nice actually.

But it was hard to meet them because they would just include each other,(This does happen with everyone though, you get a set of friends and it gets to the point that you really don't include anyone else, so can't blame them really.)

I have been to several frat parties and they are not any cooler than any other parties, however I have met some of the biggest a-holes ever at these parties.

I think because people pay to get in and that it at first is a forced friendship is why the few a-holes get in and give them a bad name. I bet most of the frat daddies on this tread will say that the could live with kicking out a few people, and this is my main problem with frats, you can't choose the people your associated with. That and how much it costs is why I cannot understand joining one.

In addition to Epsilon Alpha Delta, I also have heard good things ab out Alpha Sigma Sigma, Tau Iota Tau, and your Mu Omicron Mu.

I think your best fit will by Gamma Alpha Psi though.

The Mays/Greek scene is different than most of A&M. Fair statement.
