I joined the Chicken. It was fun.

One nice thing I always liked about "joining" the Chicken was that I could sort of choose whether or not to participate daily, weekly, monthly whatever. No contract or anything. And, I didn't have to give them a resume or anything at the door. They didn't care if I made good grades or combed my hair the right way or wore the correct shirt in the correct manner. No worries if my parents didn't fit the mold either.

If I had 80 cents, they'd give me a Pearl. Good times.

like bravnot has said, i could have easily found friends if I had not joined a fraternity, but this is how i found my network here. I dont have to worry about trying to find a party to go to or calling around for people to go to northgate every weekend because there will either be a party thrown or people willing to go out in an instant. Also hanging out with some of the hottest girls here at A&M isnt a bad deal

Will someone please post the Bama Bangs picture from a week or so ago? Oh my goodness if that doesn't give you a bad image of frats I don't know what would.

Don't get me wrong, I certainly am not in a frat and do like the Chicken. But I have gotten some mean looks in there before, probably for not being in a t-shirt and jeans. The Chicken isn't the most accepting place in the world.

If you mean sorority girls, not true. And one of my best friends who is also my big bro's fiance is in a sorority so shut up. Way to take the low road.

Cool, my gf was in a sorority too. on a whole a lot of sorority chicks are no hotter than any of the normal girls in school. its cool for those of you who had self esteem issues, i mean i guess it lets you talk to girls that you wouldnt normally.

They donate to a national cause. They usually do fundraisers or other events to raise money.

It is not hard to follow. Well I guess it's not hard for most...

In questioning how you "do a philanthropy", I was getting at your grammar, not your efforts (which I'm sure are (1)worthwhile and (2)efficient).

Here's how being a Greek helped me get a job:

My first gig out of school I worked for Tri Delta managing the houses owned by the national organization. This allowed me to fly all over the country and visit sorority houses, and meet with their members, at schools like UF, Florida St., South Carolina and Miss St. where the average looking girl was usually more attractive than anything at A&M. It was a pretty fun job that allowed me to see parts of the country and campuses I would not have otherwise.

If I wasn't a Greek I would not have gotten that job.

Not my post. I figured it had nothing to do on topic.


Some really angry people on this board.

Wonder if alot of people hate greek life at A&M more than they do other Big 12 schools.

energy, when i was in school the entire greek population was only about 5% of A&M students (about the same as the corps), and the sorority membership vastly outnumbers the fraternities.

then you have schools like tceh where 1 in 3 is greek.
