Thanks for sharing the video! While many of us were able to give a little to help, I am so thankful for those of you with connections, tickets, time and the heart to make the day so special for Shannon and her family.
I bawled watching that YouTube video and I won't deny it. I'm that bartender in Tennessee you mentioned... I worked last night after the game proudly wearing my Aggies shirt all night. When asked about the game, if I had time I'd tell Shannon's story. All I got over and over again was, "You Aggies are amazing." And that's the truth... I LOVE THE AGGIE FAMILY!!
While most donations have come from Ags there have been contributors representing:
Virginia Tech Hokies Texas Tech Alabama University of Texas University of South Carolina The teacher who took Shannon's Class over Vanderbilt Iowa Hawkeyes and others
Furthest donation came from an Ag stationed in Korea
Most unusual donation came from a Bar in Athens, GA whose note said an Ag walked in, handed him cash and asked if he would paypal it for him.
Aggie class of '02 just made a $100 donation. Praying for sweet Shannon. My dad is currently on his 4th round of battling cancer so he can relate. Blessings to her! Proud to be in our Aggie family, especially in moments like these!
Everything about this experience sums up what it means to be an Aggie. THIS is the 12th man. Honored to briefly transport her around. She was blown away by the rickshaw transportation, let alone everything that followed. Truly grateful woman, and a warrior! Thumbs up to everyone involved and to Shannon and Clay for their perseverance and positive outlook!
Remaining Balance $5605.88 (Certified check to be cut Wednesday for this amount plus any additional donations forthcoming. $25 just hit Paypal so still going)
Letting those on here who stepped up big time know that I was just contacted by the Deputy Editor of The Sporting News via email asking for the opportunity to share the story with their Audience.
Clearing with Shannon and Clay first before having the call set for tomorrow morning. I'll make sure the article includes a link for making a donation.
