Biggest change for her is that on big points she is giving herself a chance and hitting a heavy ball deep in the middle of the court. Piper Charney was only winning points if Nicole missed a ball. On court 1, Mary was in complete control. Julia was struggling with the heat. Same on court 5. Very proud of Daria! She's a fighter!

Georgia has played very, very well this tournament. Dominating. Like we did last year. We've had some close calls and will have to play great to beat them - but we will do it. AGAIN !!!

Besides the doubles, I assume lineups are the same from the last 2x we played GA??

Nicole the clincher...

For us to have a chance tomorrow…we need to win doubles. Lu has got to get on top of Aysegul and never look back. Run her ragged. Lexington has to win her match. Daria has to keep Grant on the court for 3 sets. I would literally never hit her a forehand and I would pressure her serve (especially second serve). Mia knows how to beat Mel.

Besides doubles since we have a new lineup, both teams know each others strengths and weaknesses.

There is no doubt we had a much tougher path than Georgia. A battle in the heat vs. them cruising this morning.

That said - I think if we can recover, the heat helps us. We are so tough.

Lulu - I know you are gassed and haven't been at your best. Pretend you are on the clay courts at the French open. Use your drop shots, consistency, and speed and make Mert hit 20+ balls a rally. Don't let her work the center of the court with that forehand.

Make this physical. She cant hang with you for 2+ hours in this heat.

GA's court 3 doubles has lost both their matches this weekend. Need this court!! I think M&M can win theirs.

Hopefully I still have some voice left but I'll be there cheering loudly with a crew.

Huge team effort today. My quick recap for each player.

Mary - crazy to think the only player to not win a match today was our goat, Mary. However, she was the vocal leader out there and after dropping the first quickly jumped to a 5-1 lead in the second. That let the entire team know "we aren't done".

Nicole - what a performance. She and Lulu got such a bad break on that ridiculous call at 4-4 deuce. They could have gone away, instead they focused, dug in, and won three straight games. She laid it all out there and clinched doubles AND singles.

Mia - rough start to doubles but then played much better to make that a close set. Absolutely stepped up in singles. She just refused to get behind. It was clear we were getting a point on court 3 today. She gets broken in that second while serving and says "don't worry, I'll just dominate the tiebreak"

Lulu - she really stayed positive and focused in doubles when she and Nicole went down early. This could have been a repeat of yesterday but she refused to let that happen. Her backhand winner down the line clinched things with all the pressure on. Singles was a struggle, but the fight was there. She will be ready tomorrow and we will need her.

Daria - she's always been talented, but what we are now seeing is the heart and fight that sometimes got masked with frustration and loose play. I'm not sure she was the better tennis player today, but she was the better competitor. She refused to lose and made this a physical match she was going to win in the third.

Lex - one of her best matches in maroon and white. Lights out in singles and doubles as a freshman. First off the court absolutely dominating the second set. A bagel in the final four?!? I was a little worried after watching Bernales play lights out in doubles. Lexington won a tight first and then just demoralized her opponent with beautiful serving and ball striking.

Every single player contributed in a big way today.

What a team. What a win.

The first men's semifinal was moved indoors and this was posted on the NCAA Tennis "X" page":

"UPDATE: Due to inclement weather, our @WakeMTennis vs. @StanfordTennis match will be contested indoors. With limited seating capacity, we can only accommodate individuals on their respective team's pass list as well as all credentialed personnel and team members."

This is the general message the ticket people told me when I bought a ticket today and they also said no refunds if you can't get in.
