Not a fan either. Simplification is not needed here. Strategy is the fun part.

Like these repechage rounds to give an extra chance to qualify for the next round. It at least gives the runners one extra race at the Olympics instead of being one and done.

Lindon Victor is having himself a day in Paris! He is in medal contention! I repeat he is in medal contention!

Favorite Damien Warner fouls out of the pole vault! Neugebauer should win! Victor is in 3rd but should fall behind in the pole vault! He's just behind Owens Delerme for 2nd but Rootj of Norway and Williams of USA are behind him and should pass him in this pole vault! With only the javelin and 1500 left

No doubt. They are focused on the optics of it. I'm more intrigued by the fact it gives them more variables to get to the same end result, so fun to watch it play out. Those dramatic changes is what makes it fun and unique.
