No need to tell me - I grew up during the Cold War when you rooted for every American athlete regardless.

Just that these days I find it overkill, and to be honest, I can't connect with many of the professional prima donnas and divas competing for the US these days.

as a coach in todays world, at a youth track meet there will be 6 guys registered in the mile and 60 in the 100… everyone thinks their kids a sprinter and every kid thinks they're a sprinter

If you're watching on Peacock during the day, you can select the feed entitled "Main: [Name of Feature Events of the Day]." It's a far more even-handed broadcast that gives a much better picture of the entire field. And the commentary team is great.

I don't think I'll ever see it in my lifetime but Grant Holloway is good enough to be on either 4x1 or 4x4 relay team, I just wish some coach had the balls to include him in the pool.

When he was at Florida I always looked forward to him on that 3rd leg in the sprint relay and I always always knew he'd put Florida in any race in the 4x4! I feel like he's just set on going after that 110 record and maybe once he gets that he'll do other events and that sort!
