It's just so sad, we have these facilities, we have this great history, we are in the best track state in the world for high school athletes and we can't succeed anymore…
I respect your deep and broad knowledge of our T&F program, and value your comments on all aspects of its development and performance.

I watched the meet on the SEC network, and the showing of the men's and women's teams was embarrassingly poor, to the point of not even being competitive.

I lurk on this board frequently enough to understand what you and other knowledgeable commenters observe about the decline of the program and coach Henry's struggles to succeed in the new world of professional college T&F.

Coach Henry has had a Hall of Fame run which will forever endear him to Aggie fans. Perhaps he is tired or too stubborn to change his ways and successfully adapt to the new paradigm. I give him credit for recognizing that the team is a big disappointment, but we have no good reason to expect rapid improvement. I sense he holds himself accountable. We'll see what happens.

To the Aggie mom with a son on the team, bless you and him for your spirit and loyalty. However, I seriously doubt that anything y'all read here is a surprise to either of you. Moreover, critiquing obvious shortcomings is not destructive when informed fans and potential recruits are already fully aware of them, and cheer leading for a failing team, instead of encouraging necessary changes to promote its success is not productive. I think this is mostly on the shoulders of Bjork. It's his responsibility to go visit and "have the talk" with Pat Henry. These legacy coaches are hard to say goodbye to, but if we've fallen this far from relevance, from having won multiple Natty's to not even competing….He's gotta go and ask Pat exactly what his plan is to getting back to being a strong program….if he doesn't have the right answers, or no specific plan on how to return to prominence….then it should be a Jo Evans type move on the part of our AD. Gary Blair was given a long leash perhaps due to his 2012 Natty, but to be brutally honest, our women's basketball team has been a shadow of itself since Vic Schaefer left for MSU. Bjork has guts….I'm guessing he will convince Pat Henry it's time to hang up the cleats??? I'm not sure what the right answer is….but if PH allowed a giant slip from 1st to 10th place in the 2023 SECC…..I don't think he would be capable of knowing how to pull the fighter plane out of the jet wash spiral…Might be the right time to look for the next coach now….

Should have never hired Bjork in the 1st place and I will not expand on that.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic….Bill Byrne was the AD at the time who hired Pat Henry in 2005, not Bjork…..

Sorry I edited my post without re-reading it. We should have never hired Bjork.
