Maddie Livingston with another PB in the 300! Grace Plain pr's as well!
I respectfully disagree. Recruiting is not fine, and certainly not great. We finished 10th in both men's and women's at the SEC Indoor Championships today.taylorswift13 said:
Our recruiting is fine! Great even! But while we're developing freshman and underclassmen, the Florida's Arkansas, and Texas' of the world are reloading and filling their holes on the roster with transfers who are standing out at smaller programs! We simply aren't trying to do that our staff just can't…
You can argue someone's perception that our 2021 and 2022 women's recruiting classes were top 5 was bogus, or our development process is awful. The fact is our women's team placed 10th this year at SEC championships.taylorswift13 said:
Our girls 2021 and 2022 classes have been recognized as top 5! We just don't fill the holes we need or complement what we bring in! One of those classes had a girl names Athing Mu
However our guys recruiting has been very lackluster aside from this year. but we signed arguably the top sprinter in the country in Issam Asinga, and two of the best hurdlers in the nation in Kai Graves Blanks and Arveyon Davis! These 3 will score in conference name up our 4x100 relay as freshman next year…
I am so happy to hear this and not the same beating around the bush answer that doesn't take accountability or responsibility. Usually these articles will just talk about the few bright spots and it rarely ignores the bad, so I'm happy to hear this. He is clearly upset as he should be! Hopefully it lights a fire under him!triniaggie said:
Texas A&M Quotes
Head Coach Pat Henry
On Moving Forward from the SEC Meet …
"It's fair to say that I'm disappointed with today's results. We're going to have to change, and it's going to take help to make this change. We need to commit to change. There were a lot of positive things that happened today, but we have a lot of catching up to do as well. We're Texas A&M, we will bounce back. This program has been strong for a long time, and we will remain strong."

Pat Henry is a coaching legend in the sport of track and field. I really wish he would retire so that he can be remembered as a legend rather than just another one-time great that stayed too long. I agree with you that recruiting or development is not what it should be (maybe both),
Disappointment is normally the product of surprise. Pat Henry was NOT surprised with yesterday's results. He is with his kids every day and knows the meet's outcome in advance. Track coaches are masters of counting points based upon times and distances of all competitors in every event. Coach Henry is a smart man, and he can count points.taylorswift13 said:I am so happy to hear this and not the same beating around the bush answer that doesn't take accountability or responsibility. Not trying to be rude or controversial but has anyone ever considered how all this negativity might come across to potential athletes? I am the parent of a current track athlete and I NEVER point him here or share comments from these forums. I worry how it will impact him psychologically. My job is to encourage and build him up so he can continue to grow and achieve his full potential. I can guarantee, no one here wants these kids to succeed more than they do. They eat, sleep and dream for success. They work extremely hard, sacrifice and strive, not for a few months (the season) but for days, weeks and years. The things they are achieving have been years in the making. I myself come on here often as I learn a lot about the sport and appreciate the expertise that is shared. I also love the level of enthusiasm for a sport few appreciate. However, I do wonder how a potential athlete, who reads that our program is horrible and our coaches need to retire might feel. If that athlete is considering A&M vs. another program, I'd bet they'd reconsider. Maybe having "fans" that are disgusted and embarrassed by the program isn't helping our recruiting either. Just some food for thought.
