I've seen a couple of posts on social media that Buffalo has been making trade inquiries for him.

Not sure how knowledgeable this guy is but he paints a bleak picture.

I'm still not worried. Yes Buffalo is probably the only team in the league that can "afford" him in terms of money and draft picks. But Buffalo is still nowhere near competing in the playoffs and Jason would actually have to want to be their long term for Buffalo to offer sheet him. If they offer sheeted him he could still hold out or walk in a few years as a UFA and Buffalo would be out a boatload of picks. I think he gets signed around when the final roster is set.

I would be more concerned/disappointed he's not in camp with a new coach and players than concerned about him being offer sheeted. It just almost never, ever happens.

Marchment now has 3 goals this preseason. Great sign that last season was no fluke.

No goals to show for through 2 tonight, but I love what I see. Great puck possession and quick movement in the offensive zone with shots on net. Defensively, much more aggressive in the neutral zone.

Don't know if it's been discussed, but the blackout jerseys are back this year. They're also going to rollout new Reverse Retros soon. The rumor (through a leak from Fanatics) is that the Stars are going with the old shoulder patch logo (state outline) as the main logo on a black and green jersey.

I know the blackout jersey already uses a Texas outline, but this makes sense since they're still pushing "Texas Hockey" pretty hard. I was hoping for the star jersey but green and black instead of the white ones, but something like this might work:

Idk about y'all, but I think these are HOT. I'm one of the people that thinks the stars need to reassess their logo, and this is something I could get on board with. I would like to see the Stars embrace their history a little more, while keeping their current color scheme (victory green, black, white). I find our current logo a little generic/abstract all in the same stroke, if that makes any sense. So getting something with a little history behind it would be welcome.

Those are okay. They don't wow me but I'd probably buy one just to have.

Now if the REALLY wanted to generate some buzz they'd release a Mooterus RR!

A mooterus would be pretty fun, I can't lie. They are so famous now, they would probably sell like crazy!

I love that state outline logo , always have, but not crazy about the color combo. I think I'd like them more with less green on the shoulders.

There was so much potential for those reverse retros if they had gone green and black, but the all white looks terrible. I'm in on this version of the reverse retro though.

Lundkvist also looks very good, and like he could be a serious player/weapon in DeBoers system. I think he has fully kicked Harley to the AHL to begin the season.

He has Wyatt Johnston, Fredrik Karlström, Riley Damiani, Mavrik Bourque filling up the last four spots. Wyatt Johnston would no doubt play, the other three might rotate some to get to 12 each night. The Wyatt Johnston scenario is particularly interesting because he is allowed nine games at the NHL level before they either have to send him back to Canada or keep him, but by all regards everyone thinks he deserves a chance to make the everyday roster because he is just that good. It should also be said that when Ty Dellandrea comes back, he is guaranteed a spot, so it is likely that we see Bourque or someone like that head to the AHL.

The TXDOT-worker neon green blackout jersey really grew on me after a while.

Glad those are back for 22-23.

The blackout neon green jerseys are staying indefinitely. They are uniquely Dallas Stars now and awesome.

Was not a fan of the blackouts initially. The promos didn't do the green justice. Got one for my son for Christmas that year and it grew on me. Waiting to see what the new reverse retros actually look like though. I have to replace my home Radulov (tear) soon.

After reading the article in the DMN there are some interesting nuances to what they did.

• Robo is 5 years away from free agency and this is a 4 year contract so he'll still be an RFA for 1 year at the end.
• The 4th year is set at $9.3 million, meaning any RFA qualifying offer for that 5th year must be at least that much.
• This staggers Robo and Otter's contract expirations (Otter is up a year prior to Robo) so they're not going to have to negotiate both contracts at the same time again

What's also great is that by the time these deals expire, the cap will have actually gone up and a lot of big contracts will have or will be coming off the books. This team is set up to be competitive moving forward and watch out fo '25 or '26. That's when I expect this team to really be in contention.

It's getting pretty lean for the Stars, with only a few more spots up for grabs. Will Butcher and Hanley are fighting it out for the 7th dman spot, while I think it's likely Harley gets sent to the AHL. I believe Damiani has earned a spot, but it is going to get weird when Dellandrea returns because I think he has earned his spot as well. Playing the numbers game, I think one of Johnston and Stankoven have made the roster full-time, because they aren't going to keep one of them and not play them. If you aren't going to play them then send them back to Canada. It will be interesting what they do with that players 9-games, but I think they are in for the long haul whoever it is.

NHL roster size is 23, and we have 26 currently (not counting injured players).

So we have 3 to cut:

- Dobby is going to AHL
- Two defenseman will go down

So why do we have to cut a forward? If I'm missing something we'd only have to cut one I guess but I'm not sure why. And one more when Dellandrea comes back in a couple weeks? So the three in question (I would think) are:

Damiani - Seems the safest bet to make the team
Stankoven
Johnston

So my guess is whichever out of Stanky and Johnston make it will be sent down after the season starts to make room for Dellandrea any way. That's barring a hot start or another injury.
