Looks like we sweated out a third set win 32-30
They were down 21-14, Byrd didn't lie when she said they had fight in them. Solid win against a team likely to do well in their conference
Down 9 the first half of set 3. Couple of good runs got them back and was obviously back and forth until the end of the set.
Lednicky had an up and down day. Middles did well it looks like. Meuth got better at the end to help finish the game.

Browser had 10 kills in 3 matches last weekend
Brown had 8 kills in those same matches (11 sets total) out of the middle
today Browser had 8 kills and Brown had 5 in three sets ...glad to see more production and attempts although it seems when behind we went pin a lot more down the stretch

Why are we not allowed to defend the middle of our side of the court? Other teams don't appear to get penalized for doing it.

Oh, gotcha! It is nicknamed the "campfire." The middle of the floor is an open spot in our defense. Our block isn't very strong or disciplined, which leads to our libero, S, and OH to scramble to cover it. Technically that ball to the middle is either the libero or OH ball.
I assume this will be corrected as the teams play more together. You haven't seen it much this weekend, which is good.

We don't play middle middle defense like a certain philosophy of teams use. We play more middle back a lot more

Besides posting on the ticket exchange, how could I got about getting some good seats to a volleyball game. Talking about double letter row or even floor. Could I just get GA and get there real early for that side to get closer seats. My daughter is super interested in Aggie Volleyball, especially now after making the 6-8th grade team as a 6th grader. Sorry humble brag proud of her. She was super upset that I could not livestream the TCU game tonight, but it least we had live stats. Thanks for any help. You can message me if needed.
You can get tickets and pretty much sit anywhere. Some seats will be season ticket holders but plenty of good seats near the action are never used and no one will care

Yeah but you can still play perimeter and have middle back come much closer to middle of court. Studies have shown where most balls end up. Some teams like to play middle back towards the end line like we do. Others play way up. Depends of hitting tendencies of opponent and your blocking scheme as to how effective you are with middle playing up. We got beat a lot to zone 1 last year even playing deeper than most on roll/off speed shots
Agreed. But the elite teams play the perimeter, Atleast the few matches I've watched this year. I think you might see us switch it up a bit depending who is right back(Elena vs Logan). Elena has more than been serviceable covering line. Logan has some work to do but makes up for it with offense.
I think we are able to stay deeper due to having quicker middles. We got burned in zone 5 this weekend due to having splits in the block. Once that gets fixed, middle back will be able to stay deep and read the block/hitter. I love watching Ava playing defense, she has the tenacity that nothing will touch the ground. Her and Logan are a great combo
