Well, at least they won it in OT. Up 3 points with a tough wild team coming in on Thursday.
That game had a different intensity tonight. It was a light crowd, but the Stars play really got the fans into it.
Definitely felt like playoff hockey tonight.

Dallas and Vegas have a very similar schedule down this last stretch and play each other in a couple weeks. Dallas has the benefit of being up 3 points with a game in hand. Barring a colapse, Dallas should stay ahead there. That game on the 26th could be huge though.
Trashville's schedule is pretty brutal, and they're only up a point. So there's a very realistic shot at getting the #1 wildcard. Should be a fun stretch, heading (hopefully) into the playoffs. If we could slide into the Pacific side of the playoffs, who knows what might happen.

Every time I get excited about sliding into WC1, I feel like the team starts to struggle. Since my superstition is the end all be all, I personally will choose to concentrate my energy on simply making the tournament.

Was going to post that. Was just thinking the other day that the pipeline looks a lot stronger than it has. Have to give credit to Nill and his staff, the offensive talent on the way looks impressive.
Don't know if it's still true, but as of 3/28, Stars prospect led each Junior league in pts/gm:

What's the level of play in those leagues like? Is there a common ranking people have for them? Comparative to AAA, AA, A-High, A-Low, etc.?
And do leagues have reputations of play? Like the WHL is known for defense while the OHL is offensive laden?

The junior leagues (from best to worst) are:
OHL, WHL, and QMJHL are all major junior leagues.

Production doesn't always translate as you go up to the NHL, but the way these guys are playing is very encouraging.
There is no way the Stars would've gotten Wyatt Johnston at the end of the first round if he would've already had a season like this with the Spitfires. Gabriel Valardi also played for Windsor and was the 11th pick in his draft year. He didn't do anything close to what Johnston has done this season.
Teams were kind of drafting blindly with covid shutting down development leagues. Stars may have really found some gems that other teams weren't in on.

Started the Adult Rookies program at one of the Stars Centers last night. They give you all the gear for free except for a stick. Then you get 4 one hour training sessions for free as well. Cool way to get into hockey and get on the ice.
It was a workout, but it was a lot of fun. They had stations setup to practice skating, stick handling, passing, and a small scrimmage area. If you ever thought about joining a league this is a good place to start.
You do have to give the gear back, but have an option to buy it all at a reduced price. The jersey is yours to keep.

He's 3-0-1 in his 4 starts with a 0.922 save % and a shutout. Doesn't hurt to ride the hot hand and give Otter some rest. These next couple of weeks are going to be brutal (9 games in 16 days).
