Impressed by the number of runners today. Each race had over 260.

Newest women's cross country regional rankings. They must have seen ACU beat our girls last weekend. They had two girls in the top ten carry their team! We need one of Livingston and or Goddard to stay with Black and Santoro. As well as Plain to stay with the girls as well! If we do this, we can easily take down Abilene Christian and a Texas team that has not looked like itself!

One huge surprise on the men side is Nigerian Emmanuel Bamidele who has a PB of 44,78 in the 400m

WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! What a huge pickup!! Him, Hanson, Mpoke, and Smith/Etiwe can be around a 3:00 minute 4x400! I'm pumped!

Didn't realize Jaevin Reed had eligibility!! Our 4x400 is going to be crazy! No Athing Mu, but with proper development and faster times we can break our own record! In a world where Young can split a 49, Richardson, Robinson-Jones, and Reed can go 50...

I also really help Terri Turner-Hairston is back! She seemed to be a really amazing Assistant that our athletes loved!

I was very surprised to see her(Jaevin) back for grad school. All the summer calculations I did without her. What a new dimension that brings. I know she was injured last year and was just rounding back into her shape from
2 years ago. If she can improve even slightly below what her PR is or better yet cut off 1/2 second then I think you may be right for breaking the record. This is also assuming Syaira is recovered also and matches her PB. Who would have thought it would even be possible without Mu but if these girls can stay healthy and gell at the same time then it will indeed be a close pursuit of probably no worst than 3rd best time all time( seldom does everyone run their best times at peak time during the NCAAs ) Popcorn season is right around the corner.

Same thoughts here! Seeing her and Kaylah Robinson back in the hurdles for me pumped! I feel for Pat Henry, putting the 4 best girls on that relay is going to be so freaking tough! We can have two relays advance to the national finals haha! We can realistically have 8 girls qualify to the outdoor prelims! Hopefully we can stay healthy cause that depth will be scaryyyyyyy!

Putting it out now, if our girls win one national championship either indoors and outdoors! I'll give up Taylor Swift for a whole year!

I don't believe using a DEXA is inherently bad and actually appreciated getting to use one at A&M. The main takeaway I got from the Mary Cain story is that a coach is not a nutritionist or psychologist and needs to defer to those professionals in these cases, especially with women. And honestly with female distance runners I believe nutritionists need to keep and eye out for when the body fat percentage gets to low. I'm slow to cast judgment on staff because the unfair perception that weighing athletes is a sin, but these are elite athletes that chose to compete at the top level. Don't give me "we are just college students" you are competing with Olympians and the NCAA meet is as competitive as many pro meets. On the other hand this looks like it went to far, telling a girl she has to be under 12% or she can't travel is ridiculous, especially if her times/marks are good. Also having a coach ask about birth control has got to be some type of violation. I could go on and on but chose not to be anonymous to keep myself in check. I doubt much comes from this story and the shuffle of transfers will probably not change that much, but in todays culture who knows.

Lots of coaches don't have the tact for these conversations and I think if they don't have a teenage daughter they definitely don't. If they do have one then they still probably don't have the tact

Great excellent points! Seems like A&M and some schools have great psychologists, nutritionists, doctors, and trainers, and from what I hear A&M is top of the line in these regards! I bet the DEXA thing is useful. Letting staff do their own jobs is best. But I think it's the personal comments that make the situation much worse. Also working at a prestigious track school and in today's climate only exacerbates the situation. Wonder if anything will follow this. Either it's swept under the rug and forgotten about or an over exaggeration, there's never any in between!

LOL, I was about to ask if it feels bittersweet not lining up for a conference 8K! In theory it probably sounds fun, but running an actual 8k doesn't! Although the team could've used you out there!!

For the new fans tuning in, all athletes will race but for team scoring only the top 5 times count. They add each schools top 5 runners up based on place and the lowest score wins the team title. Arkansas is the clear favorite on the men's side. Whereas the women Arkansas, Bama, and Ole Miss will be fighting for first. I project our ladies around the 6th/7th range; although a strong team, its mainly due to the lack of a clear top ten runner which is vital in a smaller field. Our men should be around 7th/8th. Let's hope all our Aggies have a great day on the same day and climb up the team standings!! Gig'em!

I think so too, it'll come down to the last long straight away and thankfully Eric has the more recent memory of it! It should be between him, Kiprop or Kipsang of Bama, Kemboi or Boit of Arkansas, or if one of the Ole Miss guys comes in strong even though they haven't looked that great this season! That final straightaway is gonna be fun to watch! THAT IS IF WE GET GOOD ENOUGH QUALITY TO SEE IT PROPERLY LOL!
