Bara Sajdokova makes her Aggie debut in the high jump! She's coming off an injury she sustained last year, so a 6 step approach would be likely to ease her back into competition style! But I'm still excited!

Avi'tal Wilson-Perteete and Bailey Goggans make their 800 Aggie debuts as well, can't wait to see if they can go below 2:06 this early!

Devon Achane is running the 60 and Lance Broome is doing the 200!!

Lol a 2:05.7 is top 16 right now... I feel you! It's gonna be weird seeing the clock hit 2:00 and the runners barely hit the straight away haha! Hopefully Goggans and Wilson-Perteete can make their way closer to 2:00

Hard to understand the logic of Gittens to transfer to the sips. She received great support at TAMu and achieved performance at high levels. Wow. Why? Loyalty, Relationships with your teammates is hurt. Amazing logic.

I remember competing with my friends in HS and at TAMU and nothing can replace that bond that was forged between the teammates that last now for 60 years. We still talk and remember the meets, the relays, the thrill of a win or just achieving at a personal best. Memories forever. I wonder what kind of memories she is going to have 30 years from now.

Added to the schedule for next weekend is the Indoor Music City Challenge at Vanderbilt! It's a unique 300 meter track! Still on the schedule is the Don Kirby Elite invitational! Curious to see who heads where?!

Auhmad Robinson shared on social media that he will be with the team next year. It's unsure why he wasn't able to this year, but adding him to such a young team for 2023 would be huge! Although it would've been nice to have a 44 split outdoors, but I think we'll be okay! Hopefully he stays true with his commitment and stays an Ag.

This is from the 12thman release

Texas A&M sends the majority of its team to Albuquerque, N.M. for the Don Kirby Elite Invitational on Feb. 11-12, while the mid-distance and distance groups travel to Nashville, Tenn. to compete at the Indoor Music City Challenge on Feb. 11-12.

i feel he had problems getting release from his school as it was mid season transfer request. He did spent the fall semester at SFA

With the transfer portal, it shouldn't matter as it was his 1st transfer. Now, maybe there was paperwork, grades, or transcript problems.

Seems unusual for Coach Henry to split the team up…can't recall when he did that last.

A lot of distance runners have been going to Vandy this year and hitting big PR's! I'm all for that if good results come out of it!

He's done it before. It's been awhile though - probably 5 years or so. I remember sending the sprinters to Millrose and distance runners to UW or ND. This signals to me they think highly of the distance runners.

Basically every year outdoors, indoor when Riba broke 4 in 2018 and occasionally when we are trying to get a national mark in a DMR. Last few years especially having Jon and Eric together I preferred just staying home and having enough pacers/competition between ourselves. Traveling a lot takes it out of you so lots of home meet pays off late in the season if you can get your marks

2018! Why does it feel like he competed here ages ago lol! Anyways I'm excited to see what our distance crew can do with some heated completion! I wanna see Gavin Hoffpauir go under 4:03, Fuller under 4:45, and Goddard under 4:50 and Casarez healthy in a fast 5k! As for the DMR's I hope we're ready to roll! Hopefully we can see Gavin and Annie anchor some fast relays along with a FAST 400 sprinter and someone from 800U lol!

With the schedule of SECs (and I think nationals) it's hard to get someone you want to score in the open 800 to run the DMR as well but if I were coach I like the idea of giving the best 800/400 for the regular season to try for a nationals mark and see where you are at the end of the year for who would run it then but I dont know if they will get that opportunity. Might just need a lights out run at SEC, and at home that could happen

I agree with you. I actually thought of that earlier this week. Get your best 400/800/mile runners and try to qualify for NCAA early in the season and then see what happens by time Nationals. By that time Nationals athletes would have improved and others might be off injury to compete on the DMR at Nationals and free up the 400/800 specialist to do their best at Nationals. It is really hard now especially with many of our 400/800 runners are trying to get their own qualifying times. But anything is possible come SECs

Exactly!!! Like Brandon Miller and Charokee Young are safe bets for nationals individually so throw them on a DMR this weekend to help our chances there and stay in race shape! Although on the girls side I'd keep trying to get Bailey and Avi'tal chances in the open 800 and maybe use Mustin on a DMR. The 800 depth throughout the nation is insane! On the men's side it's hard to justify using one of Bamidele, Hanson, or Etiwe on a 400 when they need these 2 meets left to try to get an auto bid in the 400, but would love one of them on a DMR to try to get a solid time! We need to throw down bets on who we roll with haha

I'm gonna hope for Cawthra - Hanson - Miller - Hoffpauir or maybe even Miller - Hanson - Norris (Mpoke if healthy) - Hoffpauir and on the girls side Goddard - Young - Goggans - Fuller or Wilson-Perteete - Young - Goggans - Fuller

Goddard has a 2:14 800 PR from high school so I'd love to see what she could possibly do in the 1200, Wilson-Perteete has run a 4:25 1500 and with her 800 seed could probably run a solid 1200.

I can't thank you guys enough for all of the time you give to post track information!

I am a longtime TexAgs dude (since 2001), rarely post, but I read this site everyday and the info and knowledge you guys put out (Taylorswift, Trini, etc.) shows not only incredible technical experience but, most importantly, true PASSION for track and field!

I coached high school football for many years and have worked many track meets. There is nothing like a good varsity high school meet on a crisp spring Saturday! College meets are even better! Now, junior high track meets...............that's another thing.

Thank you all for your input and humor!!

I appreciate your kind words! There's few things I'm more passionate about than Aggie track! I gave up a preferred walk on spot a few years ago to take 18+ hours of school and work 50+ hours a week so I can graduate fast and help out my family. The track season is just beginning and I'll continue to bring more and more information and insight as the season continues! It's going to be a fun one! The people who post here are awesome and it's fun discussing track and reacting to the meets and with the occasional online arguments with some hating trolls lol. And lol about the middle school meets haha

Here's a podcast/show our runners Jake Lanier and Kennedy Smith started, they did a cool sit down interview with Bryce Foster while at the New Mexico meet! It's a cool listen and a chance to get to know Bryce a little more! Highly recommend!!
