my alarm is at 5 for the 1500, the tail end of the decathlon high jump, and Annie throwing the shot put! I also wanna see the 400 semi's and deem who's worthy of holding the same baton as our Athing Mu

I've seen this reaction a lot and I think it's misplaced. Now I never discount the possibility of cheating in track, but I don't think the performance necessarily justifies the allegation.

If you compare world records in the 400 and 400 hurdles over history you see that difference (i.e. extra time to get over hurdles) declined steadily from 7 seconds in 1912 until the great Edwin Moses cut it to 3.16 seconds in 1983. But Kevin Young's 1992 record stood for 29 years and the difference ballooned to 3.75 seconds.

Warholm just cut that to 2.96 seconds, which is right on the long-term trendline. Benjamin's 46.17 is 3.14 more than the 400 record. Essentially, Warholm/Benjamin have just taken the event back to Edwin Moses level.
And now McLaughlin runs 51.46 to pull the women's 400 hurdles record to within 3.32 seconds of the "non Iron Curtain steroid" record 48.14. The hurdles are shorter but are more proportional to women.

Slight improvement for Annie Kunz up to 15.15 but SHES still leaving a lot left out there. Victor is on his last attempt at 2.05 after clearing 2.02 which is a centimeter under his season's best
