On Sunday, Texas A&M outfielder Jake Duer was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks& in the 18th round, 536th overall, in the 2026 MLB Draft.
Duer becomes the seventh Aggie to hear their named called this weekend.
In his lone season in Maroon & White, the left-handed hitter slashed .304/.406/.479 in 217 at-bats as he started all 57 games for the Aggies. Duer accumulated 66 hits, 13 doubles, seven home runs and 54 RBI for Michael Earley & Co. while earning a reputation of being a “professional hitter.”
Now, by definition, he’s a professional hitter.
Perhaps his best moment as an Aggie came against Texas State in the College Station Regional. In the 17-2 win, he drove in a career-best six runs, going 3-for-5 and finishing a triple shy of the cycle.
Duer transferred to A&M after spending the 2025 campaign at Florida Atlantic, but his collegiate career began with two seasons at TCU.
In 99 games at the college level, he finishes with a .345 batting average with a .929 OPS, 22 doubles and nine home runs.
