The Moss has rolled into Washington D.C.

On Sunday, Texas A&M right-handed pitcher Weston Moss was selected by the Nationals in the 11th round and 316th overall.

Moss becomes the sixth Aggie off the board in the 2026 MLB Draft. Washington took Chris Hacopian in the first round on Saturday.

Moving into the starting rotation as a junior in 2026, Moss made 14 starts and one relief appearance for Michael Earley’s Ags, owning a 5-2 record with a 5.46 ERA. In 64.1 innings pitched, he struck out 69 batters while issuing just 21 walks.

He also saved some of his best moments for last.

In an early May start vs. Auburn, Moss spun 6.1 innings of one-hit ball, allowing just one run in an important series-salvaging victory at Blue Bell Park. Carrying a no-hitter into the seventh, when Earley eventually took the ball from him, the Olsen Field faithful rewarded him with a standing ovation.

Then, at the end of the month, he pitched into the eighth inning of a Saturday-night affair against Texas State in the College Station Regional. After striking out a career-best 10 Bobcats and letting out an emphatic roar from the mound, Moss was again showered with thunderous applause.

Those moments of dominance were foreshadowed by a strong sophomore season in 2025. Making 22 appearances with two starts last year, Moss emerged as one of A&M’s more reliable relievers, covering 48.0 innings with 50 strikeouts.

Throughout his three years in Aggieland, Moss was 14-5 with a 4.50 ERA. He struck out 145 batters in 136.0 career innings.

With professional baseball officially on the horizon, his fastball-sinker-changeup combo will give him the chance to keep rolling.
