Staying in the Southeastern Conference.

On Wednesday, Oklahoma transfer outfielder Alec Blair announced his commitment to Texas A&M baseball as he will continue his collegiate career in Maroon & White.

As a true freshman in 2026, the California native slashed .247/.320/.376 with 11 runs, four doubles, two home runs and 18 RBI in 93 at-bats for Skip Johnson's national champion Sooners.

During OU’s run to and through Omaha, he had one at-bat against The Citadel in the Atlanta Regional on May 31 as he finished the season with just two total plate appearances from April 21 on.

In a mid-March series against Michael Earley's Aggies, Blair was 4-for-11 with a two-run home run in the Saturday affair as Oklahoma claimed two of three vs. A&M.

Listed at 6-foot-6 and 195 pounds, the left-handed hitter will likely factor into an outfield that has spots to fill with Caden Sorrell projected as a first-rounder and Jake Duer exhausting his eligibility.

Originally from Lafayette, Calif., Blair was a three-year letterwinner at De La Salle High in Concord, earning first-team MaxPreps All-State honors as a senior while helping the school to three straight CIF NorCal D1 championships. Despite being MLB.com's No. 52 draft-eligible prospect in 2025, he went undrafted and ultimately made it to Norman.

Blair becomes A&M's 10th addition during the current portal window and the first outfielder. Additionally, he joins former OU teammate RHP Trent Collier in Maroon & White.

Gotta stink for OU to lose a freshman contributor. I wouldn't want to lose any of our freshman that played last season.

Intriguing player. In his interview he said that he wanted to come here for development - OU didn't have a nutrition center and a weight room just for baseball. He wants to gain muscle and hit jacks. If he didn't play basketball and desired to try it out at the collegiate level, then I think he would have signed out of HS (being ranked inside the top 50-60 for prospects).
