Football
Before the Aggies’ eighth fall practice on Sunday, Jimbo Fisher, Myles Jones, Hezekiah Jones and Chase Lane spoke to the media.
Fall Camp continues this week in Aggieland as Texas A&M gears up for the 2021 season.
- Kickoff is under three weeks away as the Aggies host Kent State at Kyle Field on Sept. 4.
On Sunday, it was announced that 2022 quarterback and baseball commit Conner Weigman will enroll at Texas A&M early following the conclusion of his senior football season at Bridgeland High School.
- Weigman will forgo his final high school baseball season and will no longer be eligible for the 2022 Major League Baseball Draft.
- According to Prep Baseball Report, Weigman is the No. 37 high school prospect in the class of 2022.
- Weigman would be eligible to play for Jim Schlossnagle and Texas A&M baseball this spring.
Soccer
On Sunday night, No. 9 Texas A&M defeated Baylor, 2-0, in their final tune-up match before the regular season begins on Thursday.
- Mia Pante scored in the 71st minute, and Andersen Williams added an insurance goal in the 89th.
- Kenna Caldwell registered the clean sheet with four saves.
- The match begins at 6:00 p.m. CT and will stream on ACC Network+.
Men’s Basketball
On Sunday, Buzz Williams & Co. received a verbal commitment from 2022 point guard Amaree Abram.
- The 6-foot-3 Abram is the first to join A&M’s 2022 class.
- Originally from Humble, Texas, Abram is playing his prep basketball at the Southern California Academy as well as playing with Houston Hoops.
Women’s Basketball
On Friday, Texas A&M announced their conference opponents for the 2021-22 season.
- The Aggies will play a 16-game SEC slate, facing ten conference opponents once and playing LSU, Ole Miss and South Carolina twice.
- A&M will face Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Vanderbilt at Reed Arena.
- The Maroon & White will face Georgia, LSU, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Tennessee on the road.
- The full 2021-22 schedule, complete with dates, times and TV information, will be released at a later date.
Volleyball
Bird Kuhn & the Aggies will face Baylor in an exhibition on Friday evening at Reed Arena.
- First serve is set for 6:00 p.m. CT.
- The match is the Aggies’ only exhibition match of the 2021 season.
The regular season begins on Aug. 27 in Hawaii as A&M faces Marquette, Fairfield and Hawaii in the Hawaiian Airlines Rainbow Wahine Classic.
- The season begins with a Maroon & White Scrimmage on Sept. 17, with A&M’s first official meet falling on Oct. 15 in Waco against Baylor.
- Conference meets include home-and-homes with South Carolina, Georgia and Auburn.
