I am very pro vaccine but also pro telling the truth about side effects and pro choice. You do you.

I can tell you from experience that I'd rather go through feeling like dog crap for a day than suffer through what I've seen people deal with in the hospital.

I'm fine with these threads. Anti vaxxers are just self serving, anti-intellectual, hyper political F16 posters. And these threads tend to bring that pathetic side out of them the best. Too afraid to handle a little old shot.

I understand that, but this directly supports what I've been saying about medical professionals or those who work in a hospital. They have a warped view of it because they only see the worst. They seem to be incapable of perspective and understanding that for every person they're seeing in the hospital, there are thousands who have minor or no symptoms.

If you think people who do not want to get the vaccine are too afraid of a shot, what does it say about people who couldn't wait to get the vaccine against a virus that has a 99% survival rate?

Did you try and make fun of people for flu shots?

Getting sick isn't fun. Not everyone gets knocked over by Covid, but most I know got hit pretty hard that had it.

The vaccine doesn't stop a person from getting sick or spreading it.

I don't say a thing about the flu shot because the government isn't attempting to force people to have to choose between not taking it or their job. We also don't treat those who do not get the flu shot as second class citizens or like someone who isn't as smart as the ones who do.

Getting sick isn't fun, but most I know who have had it felt bad for a few days (if they had symptoms at all) and that was it. The 2 who had the most issues was a late-60's diabetic before the vaccine and my vaccinated 50's aunt. Both had multiple hospital trips and hospital stays.

It does stop one from getting sick. It doesn't eliminate it, but it makes it far less likely.

The vaccine makes it less likely to have a symptomatic case, reduces duration of symptoms, and largely prevents hospitalization. Your aunt was a rare case. It happens.

Vaccines likely saved hundreds of thousands of lives during the delta wave.

I'm aware the vaccines make it less likely, but claiming it stops one from getting sick is a lie.

I'm also not claiming the vaccines don't help, but I 100% believe the vaccinate all approach that's being taken is wrong, because do you know what else has saved millions of lives? Our immune system.

I say that knowing that had they been vaccinated, the statistical likelihood is greatly reduced that they would be turning blue on a BiPAP and literally beating on their own chest because they are in so much pain trying to breathe.

You are right in that the great majority of people got through Covid just fine on their own, and that's a good thing! But hundreds of thousands have not. When we are holding 20 ventilated patients in the emergency room with nowhere to put them and we have no beds for people who come in for non-Covid related issues, that's a problem. That's where we were a month ago. The vast majority of people hospitalized over the last few months were not vaccinated.

I agree, but the most frustrating things comes from the ones who are firmly in the vaccinate all camp. Vaccinated person gets sick? "Wow. One person. Amazing science." Know several people who have had COVID and had little to no issues? "But look at this one 28 year old person here who runs an Ironman every month who is on a vent! He's asking for the vaccine, but we just have to tell him 'hon, it's too late.'"

How about this...if you want to get vaccinated, go get the vaccine. If someone doesn't want to go get the vaccine, accept it and go live your life. Seems one side understands this while the other doesn't. I'll let you try to figure out who is who, because it's pretty easy.

"Far less likely" is 100% true. If you're vaccinated you're at least 5x less likely to be infected. I would say that it stops one from being sick because its 5x more likely to even have a positive test. I didn't say it's 100%. It's not. It's why I said "far less likely".

What poor science? I never claimed the vaccine doesn't work. But more and more people who are vaccinated are getting sick, hospitalized, and some are dying. You can claim it's a smaller percentage than unvaccinated, and you'd be correct, but to try to sell it as something that is going to remove the risk is inaccurate.

At least 10 folks (that I have been made aware of) got COVID from a wedding back in July. Age ranging from 13-84. All vaccinated. 6 in my close circle of family including me, my wife, mother in law, father in law, brother in law, and niece. All "breakthroughs". Nobody was hospitalized but we all got pretty sick for several weeks and slowly recovered. If you wanna argue that the vaccine prevented hospitalization, then sure. That's possible. It definitely did nothing to keep us from catching it. COVID batted 1000 on this little case study.

No one is saying it prevents 100% of infections.
