Are there examples of schools requiring a vaccine approved for emergency use? Especially when almost no students fit the criteria for the emergency use?

This is happening all over for large gatherings. Many concerts are requiring it.

It's ridiculous we are refusing to accept natural immunity.

Well on Monday it's getting full approval

Mandating before FDA I think a lawsuit is winnable. Once FDA approves I am not sure the lawsuit goes anywhere in the end.

I don't think I have encountered the word "disenroll" before. New word of the day.

Yeah should at least wait for FDA which should come next week hopefully

That's a good article. I do think it's going to take a long time psychologically to wind this down. But maybe not as long as people think.

I live in super blue, super risk averse Maryland. About a week after the mask mandates was lifted in the spring, I didn't see them anymore. Now they are back in full force (and mandated indoors in public places). My office hasn't required them and only 10% of people are wearing them.

So we will see what happens when the mandates are dropped again.

It'll be interesting if a school requires all athletes, both home and away to play at the school.

And pretty universally those vaccines which are mandated are for diseases which have mortality rates into the double-digits. Not something which for 99.5% of the people who get it experience little more than a cold.

Share the facts on the diseases you are talking about. Percentage of death. Percentage of hospitalization. Number of deaths. Number of hospitalization. Then compare all of that to covid. Prove your argument that you are making with such authority.

Also include sources of all data

Then share what you think the threshold should be at for each category.

It's irrelevant to the thread. It's ridiculous to require vaccination for vaccine that's not fully approved. It's even more ridiculous to require it for a demographic that overwhelmingly isn't facing enough risk to justify an emergency use vaccine. They should have waited.

Well, it will be FDA approved and no longer "emergency use" next week, probably Monday.

We'll see. But they already kicked students out for waiting to get an EUA vaccine for a virus that isn't a threat to their demographic.

It's going to be approved. It's pretty much been confirmed.

Seriously?

Polio: 10-30% mortality rate and 50/50 of severe handicap if you live. Smallpox: 30-100% mortality rate. Measles: 2-5% (higher in infants or elderly), like 30% chance of total hearing loss. Bacterial meningitis: 20%+ in adults. Just to name a few. These have all been posted repeatedly and thoroughly documented.

Covid is like 0.05%.

Attempting to compare mandatory covid vaccination to any of the above marks you as fundamentally unserious and unworthy of engagement on the matter.

Then don't engage with a message board on the topic if you don't want to argue with the other side. K. Bye.

645,000 people have died in the US from covid. That's important to me.

Considering the below are mandated in Texas I think covid is warranted in regards to saving lives.

But hey you are allowed to disagree!

Diphtheria has a 10% mortality rate

If you don't see a world of difference between that at 0.05% I can't help you.

And all of the other vaccines were studied and developed and tested over years. Not months. They've also been in use for years before becoming mandated.

It should not surprise you that Hayami doesn't understand your argument.

Pretty simple. Students were unenrolled before it has been approved. Not sure why the distinction is hard for people.

You're not arguing with a rational person, you're arguing with either fear or blind faith. On the fear side, it's understandable...we've been inundated with fear for over a year. If it's just blind faith, you're not gonna win that one either..,try convincing a Christian that Jesus isn't the son of God.

Either way, you're wasting your energy.
