Just got 3rd results back. No vaccine, no mask, distancing, etc. Everything still negative.

Have been very heavily exposed with only preventive measures being ivermectin and lots of sun and exercise during period of exposure.

Was hoping test would show exposure but maybe I'll just end up a lucky one.

Any word if they are extending the study?

It closed to nee enrollees in September with no signs of reopening. They seemed to hit the enrollment #'s they wanted
yep. I was enrolled early. There was a rumor they would extend the tests for more longitudinal study but I guess not.

Did my second test this week. Had Covid in March. No vaccine.
First test in August. Second this week.

N went down, but S went up.

That s protein is a bit borderline- consider vaccine depending on your individual risk factors for severe COVID. This is one of the problems with systemic reliance on natural immunity, it varies significantly from person to person.

Thanks Doc. That's kind of what I figured.

I contacted them in mid-August after my 3rd blood draw. This is what they sent:

Quote:

Thank you for your participation in Texas CARES! We are in the process of extending the number of blood draws for participants. We hope to add 3 additional tests after participants complete the original tests. Once this is approved, we will reach out to you after you have your third blood draw.

I haven't been contacted about any additional tests since my 3rd blood draw, so I'm not sure if the extension was approved/funded?

When does the text come out as the reminder for the next blood draw. Next week will be 3 months for me since my first draw.

My text was just a day or 2 before the 3 month mark.

Yep, no word and I did the same thing. I probably need to just pay this time.

Link above summarizes some of the data they have collected so far.

Thanks for sharing. I only did the S protein test and it was >2500 over ten months after the vaccine.

I was going to order the N-test to see if I have had Covid, but based on that link it is very clear that my numbers could only be so high if I had Covid. I was never sick so but I do have allergies that cause various mild symptoms.

I'm sure that test will be used in media a lot but it looks like a test of white females as the majority.

My S protein is > 2000 from vaccine only, never have had COVID and N-test negative.

No natural antibodies. I find that pretty shocking. I've been to every home game at Kyle and have pretty much lived my life.

S Protein >2500

We just received our test results from 2nd test.

My MIL is 61 with rheumatoid arthritis. She was fully vaccinated as of March. She received her booster at the end of October. 0 on both N tests, 230 on 8/27 and more than 2500 on 11/17 for her S tests.

I am 31 with no underlying conditions. I had Covid in December 2020. I was fully vaccinated as of May. Here are my results from both tests.

I wasn't paying enough attention and forgot that the chart on page 11 showed a 25 to 75 percentile range and not the total range. I guess I could be in the 90th percentile or something like that of someone with the vaccine only and still have the numbers I have.

I did notice on this thread I don't recall seeing numbers that high for someone that far out from vaccination. I also had my kids get Covid while traveling and slept in the same bed as one of them while she was sick. I really want to know so I willl probably still get the N test.

Had my 2nd Moderna shot in January. 1st Draw was in Sept and my vaccine antibodies were 534. 2nd draw yesterday and I've dropped down to 189.

Just did my second round...

Still negative/0 on N.

S went from 747 on 8/26 to 455 on 11/19 (blood draw was yesterday at 4:55p and have results already).

I was hoping to use these numbers to help me decide when/if to get a booster (2nd Pfizer shot was 4/15) but I'm not sure whether this is any indication that I need one. I suppose that might be part of what this study is trying to address...

Right now, I'm thinking I'll wait until I get the results from my 3rd/final draw.

51 year old unvaccinated male had COVID June 2020. Had my second blood draw last week 17 months after infection. Antibody levels essentially unchanged in the last three months from my first blood draw.

SARS-CoV-2, Total Ab, S Protein, Quant: Aug 2021 = 120; Nov 2021 = 122
SARS-CoV-2, Total Ab, N Protein, Quant: Aug 2021 = 20.3; Nov 2021 = 19.0

Your pic doesn't come up. Do you still have antibodies? If so, that is great news.

Edit: Now I can see the picture. Can you explain the numbers and what they mean? Thanks.
texasaggie95

I can't explain what the numbers exactly mean as far as level of immunity. Is 120 enough to fight off another infection? Vax pushes the S number way up but are my levels still enough? I was curious how my second draw would be as far as waning immunity. After my first blood draw, at least two of my daughters had COVID so I was curious if they would change because of exposure to the virus again. I didn't get sick when the girls were. At the very least, I've been glad that basically a year and a half after infection I still test positive on antibodies and if they're waning, it's a slow deterioration. So far I have not heard what a "good" level of antibodies are. However, I do still have antibodies on both tests from infection.

From the study they report that antibodies from infection have shown to still be present 270-500 days after infection. Looks like so far I'm falling into that category.

Still not exposed to Covid and I don't wear a mask indoors or outdoors.

Went from 1065 to 650 on Antibodies.

Yep we have traveled all over Texas. Busy restaurants, indoor weddings, WW2 big band dancing indoors in Fredericksburg, Aggie football game, concerts inside and outside.

If I get it I get it but am still getting the booster next week

32 year old male, infected in July 2021, and had my second draw yesterday. Seems to be trending upward. The report that the cares study sent out to us was great.

It looks like peak immunity for naturally infected individuals is at 100 days, but could last between 275-500 days. Below are my results and trends, along with the graph from the study.

I just took the second survey. Will go get my second draw next week.

I did find it annoying the responses to "why" someone received a vaccine. All were appropriated to the recipient wanting to protect themselves and/or others. Only reason I got it was to keep my job, so I lift it blank. Really wish they had included an option for mandates from work/government entities.

Gotta control the narrative.

It's like the pre-selected responses to side effects in vaccine trials. You're only allowed to choose side effects we deemed appropriate for the cause. And if your side effects from the first dose are too severe, we'll just remove you from the trial and throw out your experience.

Nothing fishy at all about that stuff.

You folks who have been vaccinated and also had Covid seem dang near bullet proof. If I knew for a fact that it would just be a mostly mild case, I'd be thrilled to have it now that I've been vaccinated. We go pretty much everywhere we want and we never wear masks, kids go to school all year sans masks, but nobody in our house has contracted it.
