Who is in the portal that you'd like to see us get?

Honestly, dunno.
Who's the top 3? Those 3…..lol.

So you're disappointed in our gets without doing an ounce of research on what's availability or what a good get would even be? I guess anything short of a bonafide Friday night SEC starter is the bar you're setting?

Correct
I think it's resonable.

And why would a bonafide Friday night SEC starter be looking to leave his current team? Are there even any of them in the portal?

I mean I too want the 2026 version of Skenes that will be an MLB All Star / Cy Young candidate after like 3 minutes in the minors.

Skenes was a portal guy from the Air Force Academy so technically it happens. But that's not exactly growing on trees.

That was my point. I don't remember a more can't-miss MLB-ready transfer ever tbh, but yeah it "has" happened at least once.

64Analytics currently has our transfer class ranked 3rd in the country. 5 of our 8 commits are ranked in their top 250 and none of the guys transferring out are ranked in the top 250.

you play to the variables in front of you. A lot of pitchers were in the same exact situation. I tend to think he would have succeeded no matter the era

Skenes is a different case IMHO. He lost his senior year of HS to COVID, iirc. And he didn't pitch much until his junior year of HS. Then was a 2-way player at Air Force. And I think the biggest reason he ended up at Air Force was because he lost his senior year.

But you don't usually see proven, top level players at P4 programs transfer unless you're talking about Big10 programs not named USC, UCLA, or Oregon. Kids want to play in the SEC or ACC.

So you go juco or guy who wasn't getting PT at a big program or the guy who has done really well at a mid-major.

Laughable take. ABS might take away a few borderline strikes, but the bigger question is why people assume Greg Maddux would be the only player transported from the 1990s while everyone else gets the benefit of modern baseball.

Can you imagine Greg Maddux with today's analytics, pitch design, biomechanics, strength training, high-speed cameras, and data on every hitter he faces? We're talking about arguably the smartest and most precise pitcher in baseball history.

You're not playing the game right, he gets abducted by time travelers in the middle of the night in 1995 and has to play the next day in 2026. That's how you play the game.
