While are options are limited, what is our optimal pitching rotation for this series vs Miss State?

Let's put Royo on the mound and see what he can do.
Given the quality of starting pitching, there isn't an optimal starting rotation. Pray like heck you get 6 quality innings from each of the starters and hold onto your butt.
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.
Freshcorn as Friday starter?
Wouldn't surprise me to see us repeat what we did last weekend.
And no for me to Freshcorn as a starter. He's your most valuable pitcher. I keep him in the pen where he has been to maintain flexibility. It allows you to use him situationally in maximum leverage and to help win multiple games.

It will take a miracle to be in a position to sweep, so you have to roll the dice on Friday and see if you can hit your way through it and save as many of your legitimate pitchers as you can for Saturday and Sunday.
I would start Darden again and I wouldn't even throw Lyons unless there is a realistic opportunity to win the game. That would give us Sims, Lyons, Moss, and Freshcorn to try and win the series.

Perfect game incoming and he hits for the cycle.
I like that approach. Just a heads up that all SEC series are Thursday - Saturday this weekend.

We just out slugged tu and their vaunted pitching staff so I think characterizing getting a sweep as a small miracle is a an exaggeration

I favor trying the Darden/Sdao combo again. Expect Darden to have a better (5-6 inning) outing, making Sdao available for long relief multi games. Think/act positive. All the pressure is on State. They're playing catch-up.

Statement about sip series is correct, we just haven't thrown anywhere near that level since then. I think the adrenaline helped out, along with an insane Olsen crowd, and a shorthanded sip lineup.

It is going to take two things. First, our batters have to be smart at the plate and hit like they know how to hit. Supposedly the wind will be blowing out this weekend. Get on base and let the sluggers bring home some crooked numbers in RBIs. Second, our defense has to be solid. No errors. I think we can do those two things. Let the hitting and defense make it easier on the pitching situation.
Will be tough to win game 1. Their guy may be the best arm we see this year. And without Sims being available this weekend, well crap.
Who would have thunk after the Gators series we are most likely losing the last 3 series (2 at home) and thus going 5-5 in SEC series? El stinko!
