Haven't been able to watch either game so far this weekend which sucks but I'm glad we got today. Now we need to take the series tomorrow.

Are we just having cold bats or does there seem to be something specific that is giving us trouble this weekend?

This ump had a crazy wide strikezone. Made it tough on both lineups, but also helped us get thru 7 throwing less than 12 pitches per. I wouldn't sweat what our lineup did today. They had good pitching and a generous ump (as did we)

Yesterday we faced one of the top pitchers in the league and swung at her pitches instead of hunting ours.

Today the strike zone was ridiculously wide. All the way across the river wide.

We will see Heard again tomorrow. Need a much more patient approach

I was surprised Lessentine didn't start yesterday tbh. But Peters did well enough to win, regardless.

We need this series, I think Lessentine starts and goes until Ford gets a feel for when Peters might come in and relieve her.

Biggest thing is getting offense on track. They didn't adjust well to the strike zone today. I can't imagine this offense, as good as it's been all year, getting held in check for a third straight game. I think we put up at least 5 runs tomorrow, probably more.

I stand by my pre-series statement - with any kind of hitting we win this series. South Carolina has 8 hits across 14 innings so far which is on par with their SEC trend to date.

Two of our early "strike 3 called" outs were not even close to the plate, two others were close but one of them was definitely not over. This caused frustration and some pressing. Still feels like we are about to break out of it - looking forward to tomorrow!

Some context on our season - with four games left, one more conference win would tie our program record since joining the SEC with 16 victories (2017/2025).

I agree, I think it'll be similar to last weekend where the offense explodes game 3. With Lessentine only throwing 83 pitches I'd throw her as long as possible tomorrow. Peters had one mistake pitch that went out so I wouldn't mind her starting either!

Tennessee got run ruled 12-0. At one point they were like 25-0 and ranked #1 and since then they've kind of fallen off a cliff. I'm really hoping they can pull off a series win at home against Bama this weekend.

nevermind the inconsistencies of the person behind the plate. the turkey pitchers, Heard especially, worked the inside pitches low and in....consistantly. She "beat" us Friday night. it was well executed game plan.

We have hitters that can make the inside adjustment. AK, KK, KP, - our lefties have to make the adjustment to inside and low from a left hander.

and let KP run. I stand by my argument that if she had been safe on the first play of the day, we would have won going away. and we will today

How can you change that? No way there's enough evidence to say without a doubt it didn't hit her.

Instant replay is not being used as intended. Even if you're "pretty sure" it didn't hit her.....the rules are that you need indisputable evidence to change the call.....no way that was indisputable.
