Well, we'll see. I'm afraid we say this about a lot of teams that beat us early in the year only to have the results show, painfully, otherwise.
From the early results, it appears we can beat the lower tier teams. We'll find out tomorrow if we can compete with the mid-tiers. We have a lot of work to do to compete/beat the top tiers (whoever they are). UCLA is probably one of the top, having taken the 2 SEC teams that played for the title 2 years ago in successive days (handily, I might add).

After tonight I'm convinced UCLA's offense is elite. They displayed elite plate discipline and situational awareness. At least, in my opinion which is worthless, I'll admit.
Their pitching? Who knows. Tonight seemed like a replay of 2025 at the plate. Hope I am dead wrong on that.
It's baseball and these games happen. Hopefully they make this an aberration and not the norm. There is always the next game.
And this game only counts as 1 loss.

We'll see tomorrow about State but they certainly did not look any better against va tech than we did yesterday. I hate to say it only sippie and maybe chomp=chomp bouncing back after a bad opening day L seems to be as strong as what I've seen from UCLA so far this season.
We juuuuust now scratched the surface of double digit games. Can see the first of the doomers are already in fine form. Absolute weak minded fans are the worst and are the best way to kill a crowd spirit.
I really wish staff would just start temp banning incessant whiners from the baseball forum once they get enough flags. Like say three games worth or something. No different than tossing out an obnoxious and unruly fan disturbing the rest of the crowd trying to enjoy the product.

I just realized by my own logic, that Colorado Rockies fans are the biggest baseball fans in the MLB.
Because there is a huge difference in enjoying a sport and enjoying watching your team win. If you only like the latter, your not really a "baseball fan"...and the Rockies fans never get to see their team win, so obviously... they are the best "baseball fans"

The sky is not falling. UCLA is that good. With that said, they have some serious swagger. Va Tech isn't that bad either.

Va Tech lost two games to just a matter of inches on several situations.
