If a battery is leaning over the plate, sure, he has to get out of the way.

If the pitch is in the box, then no, that's on the pitcher. Don't reward him for such a bad throw.

If it happens in that few inches between the chalk and the plate, then maybe it's appropriate thay the batter must attempt to get out the way. Good luck enforcing it
But what is happening is guys are standing in the box and putting their elbows and arms in the strike zone. And not moving.
How do you pitch to that?

Auburn wasn't that good and had the benefit of an easier schedule. Coastal is very good they have a better pitching staff.

I wasn't super impressed with Auburn this year either. A lot like sip. They kept winning games but left you wondering "how?" I'm surprised they made it to this weekend tbh

When we beat them at the sec tourney with that decimated lineup I thought they aren't going far. They were lucky and never played Stetson with their lefty ace or they would've struggled to get out of their regional.

I had Auburn in the CWS because I liked their path. If I had a do over after the regionals I probably would have changed my selection because I was very impressed with Coastal. But I would have agonized over it.

That said, I'm very happy with this result.
