He doesn't give a damn about winning.

He's only concerned with the cost of buyouts.
Keeping Joni is the correct decision. No need to waste money on buying out a coach of a sport that isn't a revenue producing sport. Use that money for softball and Trisha.

Shocking given the results. Proof our leaders and big wigs tolerate mediocrity

The good news is we're only paying Trev $11 million for these kind of decisions, after paying $4 million to buy out his Nebraska contract. So $15 million for an AD to tell us we're too broke to fire a baseball coach that couldn't make the regionals with a preseason #1 team. I know Trev signed this supposed half a billion dollar deal with PlayFly sports, but until proven otherwise that seems like monopoly money. If we're truly getting that money then a $3 million buyout shouldn't be a problem - but obviously it is.

100% a budget decision, partly attributable to a ridiculous contract. I just cancelled my Twelve for 12 subscription and turned off the tournament. Hope I'm wrong, but if Alberts is just going to mail it in on baseball, then I'm just going to have to direct my interest elsewhere.

So Trev said in Destin Economics would not keep us from doing what's best for our baseball program.

He also said Earley impressed him in his interviews last summer.

The second comment I get him stating even if I don't believe. Why the heck did he make the first comment though if he actually might bring him back?
Trev simply lied about the economics. There is no way to spin that

Ever since the introductory press conference, I've wondered what Earley did to wow them in the interview. I guess Welsh and Alberts were impressed that he was so ready for a big job that he doesn't even own an interview suit, like virtually every graduating senior does.

I'm ok with Earley getting another year. I still have a gut feeling that he might be the guy. (It's not logical. Just a gut feeling.)

I only wanted Vitello as a replacement if it came to that. But I have to say that each time I logged on, you numbers guys made a serious case for why Earley should go. I can see why you think the way you do. And you may be right.

See you next year for whatever conversation has to be had on here.

An AD who in a past position would go out of his way on national television to make fun of the university and football program over and over again. Don't forget that cherry on top.

That's becoming very clear now.

If it antagonizes the fans, I'm for it, I get more out of an upset TexAgs than I do out of our teams winning at this point.

If you want to get something done, there is always a way. It may be difficult or an uphill battle, but there's always a way. In this case, Trev just doesn't want to stick his neck out at all. He'd rather play it safe, cash his checks, and milk this gig for all he can. If Trev really wanted to get a new coach, he could find the money. He's just spineless and doing his own me math - that's the bottom line.

I hope I am wrong about next year, but I just don't see how Earley is the right guy to lead this bunch. Brauny was talking this morning about what he would need to change and mentioned that he couldn't keep being the players' buddy Mike. That's a change that is easier said than done. I think he'd be better off getting a fresh start with a head coaching job down the road, but we are going to pay him $3 million to keep learning on the job instead.

He's likely very aware of this, and because he's getting another chance with 10x the pressure he's going to overcompensate the other way and it will come off as hollow. Hope I'm wrong.

Monaco said he has to become the big bad wolf.

So basically become something he is not. Thats not going to happen.

Good luck with that.

To thine own self be true.

Besides that was not the only issue. There were several others. Too many to cover again.

Schloss continues to go in dry on the Aggie athletic department leadership. I've never seen such an impressive ownership of an entity at that level. We have totally given up.

We are going to need a bigger boat to add the discouraged baseball fans to those from soccer and women's basketball.

The AD is presiding over and encouraging a raging dumpster fire.

Replace the word Schloss with Trev going forward with regards to Aggie baseball. It's clear Trev is not a baseball guy.

It will be interesting to see what takes place with the players. My guess is some did not think Earley would be back. Some of them might have started exploring already.

So many posters shouted people down for saying Earley was being too much the players friend and not their coach. So now he knows he needs to have some discipline in the program? My goodness talk about a training wheels head coach. Such a weak, weak look for our AD allowing this bs. So 45 games into the season, Earley benches Royo for not running out a check swing and plays the next game - that's the kind of "change" I expect we'll see.

We're truly paying this guy to learn how to be a head coach. Just an absolute joke of an organization.

1. If the reported $3 Mil is a hill too high, then we are a pooooooor program that needs to reset our mindset to the level of a mid big 12 team.
2. Vitello is not coming here. Never have, never will. What makes anyone think our program is anywhere near the level of UT for him to leave? There is some misplaced arrogance here. We are a baseball program, and athletic dept in general, that do not compete with the big boys. Top programs poach our successful Head coaches, we shoot for mid level coaches or "rising" stars who eventually leaves when they make it. We are a stepping stone in all the big 3 sports that have an inferior mentality where we have to overpay to keep Jimbo.
3. We have always been second fiddle to texas in all the 3 sports. I have no idea how or if it is even possible to overtake texas but we had our 12 year window in the SEC and we settled nicely as second fiddle to Bama, Fla, Ga, LSU. We are no better than Arkansas in the big 3 historically or currently. Actually Ark is way ahead of us historically in all 3 sports.

texas is leaps and bounds ahead of us in football, baseball, and basketball will follow.

Wrong. Very wrong.

For most colleges, women' hoops brings in about 3X the revenue of softball and about 30% more than baseball.

A strong women's Bball team that does well in the NCAA tournament has the potential to generate a lot of cash and publicity for a school.
