It might get pretty ugly at games next year in the stands. I know we have some great fans but they going to be feisty.
There's no support comments on that tweet for Earley.

If it antagonizes the fans, I'm for it, I get more out of an upset TexAgs than I do out of our teams winning at this point.

Terrible decision.
Alberts should have been canned last year for losing the ONLY A&M coach to take us to a championship game or series in nearly 100 years.

How many times do we all have to say it?? Schloss was leaving no matter what Trev Alberts did or didn't do. Anything that POS said about why he left was an absolute lie in an attempt to make himself look better.

Trev could have hired the Army guy and had shovels in the ground to renovate Olsen and Schloss was always leaving for tu to reunite with CDC. Tension with Alberts was a super convenient excuse Schloss got to use to national media to provide cover for his poor exit.
I'm no defender in any way of Trev, but he had zero opportunity to keep Schloss.
Why don't you post them then?LB12Diamond said:powerbelly said:I've got news for you. The tweets are mostly from people who have never been to Olsen Field.LB12Diamond said:

Well there was someone that was at Olsen field during the Mizzou series stating the parents had some interesting comments about the coach.
You guys who talk about Schloss being predestined to go to sip because he and CDC can't be apart do know that he left CDC in the lurch to come here, right?Bunk Moreland said:That is ... a decision ... from Alberts.

Alberts' relationship with Jim Schlossnagle was one of the primary reasons the skipper left Texas A&M for rival Texas. Now, after the #Aggies did some vetting behind he scenes, they stand pat. https://t.co/vjSEIvIgFH
Kendall still repeating the tired line of Schloss/Trev as if that truly had anything to do with it. But he doubles down on saying we were looking at making a move.
I think it was basic feelers at most. And the money wasn't there to do what we actually wanted. Budget decision.
Actually CDC left TCU several years before POS left to come here.GigEmReggie said:You guys who talk about Schloss being predestined to go to sip because he and CDC can't be apart do know that he left CDC in the lurch to come here, right?Bunk Moreland said:That is ... a decision ... from Alberts.

I absolutely know. I also knew why Schloss left TCU for A&M before he ever had his introductory presser here. The local and national media and even texags staff didn't report what was known (which is fair). Yet when he left last year it was told away as "well everyone knew..." That's how it works.
So believe what you want. Keep dreaming he would have stayed if the Army AD was hired or Trev sucked his toes.

It really doesn't matter what any of us think should be done as most of us don't have any clout. The people that buy the tickets and support the team(s) really don't have much of a say. If there was a mass walkout with respect to donations, ticket sales, etc with football, maybe.
Football is the golden goose and all will be done to protect it. Being a small donor/fan really doesn't mean much. Even if there was a mass walkout of season ticket sales and donations, sure it would be noticed but there would just as many Ags that would take their place because being at Kyle Field in the fall (borrowing from James Earl Jones in Field of Dreams) "it'll be as if they'd dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick, they'll have to brush them away from their faces...........This field, this game -- it's a part of our past,....It reminds us of all that once was good, and it could be again."
This is why the AD & BMAs noticed with the whole Stoops fiasco. They realize they have to protect football because it funds everything else,
Baseball generally looses money but it is a sport that most of the male former students care about because they played it themselves. It reminds them of when they were kids. Basketball, like it of not, is just something that passes the time between football and baseball/spring football. Just the truth.
At the end of the day, its not surprising that A&M kept Earley. That means that the initial targets were not gettable or would cost too much when factoring in multiple buyouts with the other schools and Earley along with salaries.
The hires that Trev has made had better pay off because methinks he won't get any more opportunities, save another school poaching one of our coaches.. If Elko & company crap the bed over the next 2 years and the other sports continue to struggle, Trev will be shown the door soon. As an aside, General Welsh may be subject to the same fate as his leadership has not been.......lets just say he hasn't been very dynamic.
I'm afraid that the only expectation that has been set is that Alberts isn't paying for buyouts in non-revenue sports.ght said:
I do think behind closed doors the expectation for next year has been set. I do think it will be more than just making a regional. At least I hope.
