Well both Roger's and I were wrong about what would happen.

And we both think it's the wrong decision. So be it.
But Rogers wasn't a giant D about it.

It might get pretty ugly at games next year in the stands. I know we have some great fans but they going to be feisty.

There's no support comments on that tweet for Earley.

So the people that don't like Earley are the type of people that Tweet.

Interesting data point.

Ahh, another name caller. Since you don't stand out. I went and reviewed your last few posts to see if I need to self reflect. Nope, your lack of self awareness is telling.

I didn't say it was a good one. Something about Ds and reflection and such.

I've got lots of good bourbon. (I've also got some open spots in the Bourbon Society if you wanna talk about that)

That's sounds pretty cool but I'm kind of a light weight. How often do you get together a year?

We have meetings once a month at Rough Draught and throw 3 parties a year.

The meetings are meant to introduce folks to things not to get drunk. You can email me at Northcutt.jenn@gmail.com if you want to discuss it at any time.

It really doesn't matter what any of us think should be done as most of us don't have any clout. The people that buy the tickets and support the team(s) really don't have much of a say. If there was a mass walkout with respect to donations, ticket sales, etc with football, maybe.

Football is the golden goose and all will be done to protect it. Being a small donor/fan really doesn't mean much. Even if there was a mass walkout of season ticket sales and donations, sure it would be noticed but there would just as many Ags that would take their place because being at Kyle Field in the fall (borrowing from James Earl Jones in Field of Dreams) "it'll be as if they'd dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick, they'll have to brush them away from their faces...........This field, this game -- it's a part of our past,....It reminds us of all that once was good, and it could be again."

This is why the AD & BMAs noticed with the whole Stoops fiasco. They realize they have to protect football because it funds everything else,

Baseball generally looses money but it is a sport that most of the male former students care about because they played it themselves. It reminds them of when they were kids. Basketball, like it of not, is just something that passes the time between football and baseball/spring football. Just the truth.

At the end of the day, its not surprising that A&M kept Earley. That means that the initial targets were not gettable or would cost too much when factoring in multiple buyouts with the other schools and Earley along with salaries.

The hires that Trev has made had better pay off because methinks he won't get any more opportunities, save another school poaching one of our coaches.. If Elko & company crap the bed over the next 2 years and the other sports continue to struggle, Trev will be shown the door soon. As an aside, General Welsh may be subject to the same fate as his leadership has not been.......lets just say he hasn't been very dynamic.
I know nothing!

So our admin still shows it doesn't care about winning. Only cares about milking more $$ out of Aggies.

"Support the team" Aggies say.

Eff that. Until we don't show up to games en masse, this BS will continue. You have to hit them in the pocket book.

Which Aggie fans never will.

Aggie sports will perpetually suck.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

TA is such an incompetent AD

We hired Nebraska's Butkus award winner and icon. Why don't we just hire VY while we are at it. Just so dumb. Whoever thought hiring an icon from a previous rival school was smart had not clue. Is this job so bad that we couldn't hire someone who could crunch numbers who actually is an Aggie fan?

When A&M plays nebraska in anything, who do you think TA will be rooting for? Do you think TA cares how we do athletically? He doesn't even like our school, he is just a hired gun. He has no loyalty to A&M and the hire is plain embarrassing.

Terrible decision.

Alberts should have been canned last year for losing the ONLY A&M coach to take us to a championship game or series in nearly 100 years.

How many times do we all have to say it?? Schloss was leaving no matter what Trev Alberts did or didn't do. Anything that POS said about why he left was an absolute lie in an attempt to make himself look better.

Trev could have hired the Army guy and had shovels in the ground to renovate Olsen and Schloss was always leaving for tu to reunite with CDC. Tension with Alberts was a super convenient excuse Schloss got to use to national media to provide cover for his poor exit.

I'm no defender in any way of Trev, but he had zero opportunity to keep Schloss.

I don't think Schloss would've made quite so poor an exit if he was on good terms with Alberts.

I've got news for you. The tweets are mostly from people who have never been to Olsen Field.

Well there was someone that was at Olsen field during the Mizzou series stating the parents had some interesting comments about the coach.
Why don't you post them then?

Kendall still repeating the tired line of Schloss/Trev as if that truly had anything to do with it. But he doubles down on saying we were looking at making a move.

I think it was basic feelers at most. And the money wasn't there to do what we actually wanted. Budget decision.

You guys who talk about Schloss being predestined to go to sip because he and CDC can't be apart do know that he left CDC in the lurch to come here, right?

A job like this is almost all momentum. Not sure how you're supposed to build a program with a fired coaching walking.

They better throw money at recruits cause they sure won't be throwing program/coach/ect.

Actually CDC left TCU several years before POS left to come here.

So let me get this straight. Kendall's entire job is to report on what he is hearing behind the scenes in college baseball and arguably the program he is closest to is A&M, but you know more than he does.

Also Trev publicly states that budget won't be a factor in our decision and no where is it being reported by any one reputable that this was a money decision but yet again, you are right and everyone else is wrong.

Got it.

Schloss was on the search committee for our new AD and people in the know say he did not want Trev and wanted Army's AD. He was also very upset when Trev started slashing budgets and letting go back office assistants without even informing the coaches. Does he leave if he got his way? Who knows, but I know you don't.
Bunk Moreland
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I absolutely know. I also knew why Schloss left TCU for A&M before he ever had his introductory presser here. The local and national media and even texags staff didn't report what was known (which is fair). Yet when he left last year it was told away as "well everyone knew..." That's how it works.

So believe what you want. Keep dreaming he would have stayed if the Army AD was hired or Trev sucked his toes.

Something stinks to high heaven. From KR's repeated insistence that change is coming to Albert's statement earlier in the week, to yeah everything is fine, we are keeping Earley coming from him on Friday.

It feels like a power struggle.

Earley and Alberts are probably hoping jism diknagle chokes that regional in Austin more than any Aggie alive at this point (which is pretty impressive).

I agree
That's why I think we are stuck with Earley. I think all he has to do is make a regional and he will get a 3rd year. Even if he goes 0-2. Hell, he might be able to miss the post season again and be safe as long as there is some excuse where Trev can justify keeping him.
I've got a feeling there's a good chance we miss the post season again. Hope I'm wrong.

At the end of the day it's going to fall on the shoulders of General Welsh. If athletics continues to decline and he does nothing about it he may be shown the door. I don't like Trev. I never have. Some of you are too young to remember how he dissed our program continually on ESPN with Mark May. I'll never forget that.

I do think behind closed doors the expectation for next year has been set. I do think it will be more than just making a regional. At least I hope.

I'm afraid that the only expectation that has been set is that Alberts isn't paying for buyouts in non-revenue sports.

I think next year will be better; it would be hard not to, given how bad this year was. I suspect that we'll make the field as an at large 2 or 3 seed. I'd be more encouraged about the direction of the program if we were to host a regional. We need a real bounce back if Earley is going to be able to recruit players and staff.
