Silly comment. You have no idea if it was a money issue as far as hiring a new coach price tag, the BOR saying they wanted to wait and see if the coach could do better, maybe they are waiting to see if something comes down about controlling future payments to players, etc.
It could also be no good coach wanted to switch schools at thus time.

The players put our AD over a barrel. Horrible decision by him to let them pull a power play resulting in hiring a first time head coach. If you hire a proven winner you have to believe with the portal the way it is that he would have brought in the players he needed to win. We play in the toughest baseball conference in College baseball if you are serious about winning you never make this original hire. I hope Earley turns out to be great. But Alberts got played by the players on this one. And as I have said before, they did not produce for the guy they wanted.

After an 11-19 SEC record, I don't think the current players have a lot of leverage with anyone. I don't know what happened behind the scenes, but I'd be shocked if our current roster had anything to do with it.

Going to be even worse seeing the players who hired him leave for a serious program about baseball

Nothing silly about it. I've sat in the same room with him and listened to Sharp brag about the Jimbo deal, how he stuck it to LSU.

And then how we'd be back on top with Earley before POS even sniffs the CWS.

He's a damn clown and there's no accountability on down the org chart because his conceited ass would have to admit he's wrong.

So everyone who loves Aggie athletics gets to continue suffering for it.

Kendall still repeating the tired line of Schloss/Trev as if that truly had anything to do with it. But he doubles down on saying we were looking at making a move.

I think it was basic feelers at most. And the money wasn't there to do what we actually wanted. Budget decision.

Depends on what you mean by ugly. I think empty bleachers are ugly and I think there could be significant empty seats if there's not a major improvement. Maybe that's the plan... empty seats = no need for stadium renovation, so we save that money too?

I've got news for you. The tweets are mostly from people who have never been to Olsen Field.

Next year we will probably make a regional as a 3 seed and then once we go 2 and bbq, we will be singing and dancing for how we improved from the 2025 season. Earley will then be crowned Vitello 2.0 and given a record extension

I'm really tired of this narrative.

Do you think if we had real interest from "a proven winner" that we really wouldn't have hired that person? Trev doesn't strike me as a pushover. He didn't bow in to player demands.

We do we think that was a tired line? Schloss wanted the Army guy, he didn't get the Army guy. For all we know Schloss and Trev saw each other day one and Trev said, "I hear you hated me and didn't want me?" and Schloss said, "Pretty much you loony *****!" and then they both said, "F you, no F you, no F all of you!"

And yes, you're correct that Trev's words are likely not genuine.

With Trev it's always going to be a "budget decision", it gives him cover to continue his grift and massive salary without any accountability for program success. There was money for beard at 7 MM a year in a sport with generally less support/success than baseball? Sure. This is a cop out by Trev to maximize his personal earnings here - that's it. He points to the budget as an excuse for why we suck at everything then he'll leave in 5 years with a bag and he'll ride off into the sunset. Just like every other coach/ad that comes through here.

Trev could have hired the Army guy and had shovels in the ground to renovate Olsen and Schloss was always leaving for tu to reunite with CDC. Tension with Alberts was a super convenient excuse Schloss got to use to national media to provide cover for his poor exit.

I'm no defender in any way of Trev, but he had zero opportunity to keep Schloss.

Good lord. We went from one of the best teams in school history to in the toilet and we are keeping the coach? That's just embarrassing. I'm done for now with Aggie baseball. Wake me up when we get a real coach. Trev is perpetuating more BAS.

I agree completely. I keep hearing of some "t.u. lawyer" that's in charge of negotiating our contracts. I wouldn't be surprised if said person does have a law degree from t.u., but does anybody know who it actually is (or which firm we're contracting this out to)? I doubt the lawyer is the one negotiating the points around the buyout, etc. though so we probably only have our athletic department to blame.

The lawyers (no matter who they are) at best are advising and doing what we ask. They aren't responsible for the terms.

I believe all this is true. And I don't fault Trev for giving the gig to Earley based on how late in the year it was to be finding a coach.

But now, it's 100% on him going forward.

So Trev said in Destin Economics would not keep us from doing what's best for our baseball program.

He also said Earley impressed him in his interviews last summer.

The second comment I get him stating even if I don't believe. Why the heck did he make the first comment though if he actually might bring him back?
