She must have taken a ton of classes each semester AND during both summer sessions. Good for her for being able to do that and play a sport!

I DID notice that Reagan got a redshirt for last year. I do not think she was listed as such the last time I looked at the roster. Would have really *ucked if she had lost an entire year for 2 innings of play in the first game of the season last Spring.

I know lots of kids coming out of high school with 40-50 hours of college credit. Not sure if that was the case with her. But it wouldn't surprise me. It makes so much sense to grind and get your masters while on scholarship! Good for her!

40 to 50 hours is real. Very cool for parents. Mine started UF with 43 hours and is now into her A&M Masters; set to graduate in May. Really looking forward to seeing this Softball team this season. Love that football leads into fastpitch!

Wow! That is the starting 3B as a freshman last year at Florida. She went to high school at Fort Bend Travis in the Houston area.

Welcome Ariel!

Whoah! Big get. I wonder what the backstory behind her transfer is.

I wonder where she would play too, the infield is kind of stacked. Curious if she takes a redshirt to earn a starting spot next year

I'm not even sure if she is eligible immediately or has to take a redshirt; she's transferring right before the season starts.

She does play catcher, which is actually one of the few questions marks I have for the program. Especially after this year.

Dang, looks like a really nice pick up by Coach Ford.

Good information on the catching background. While she made 56 starts at 3B last year for Florida, she described herself as a C / Util when she signed there. I've got no idea how we plan to use her, but interesting that is an option that I wouldn't have known about her background.

On the redshirt, I don't see how that would come into play with the current rules. We had a player transfer in conference to Alabama last year with no redshirt required and she played there right away.

As long as she is in school in the Spring, I'd guess there is nothing late about her ability to play right away.

Mid-year transfers have to sit

I'll defer to others on the softball transfer rules. In every other sport it seems, when pushed on any restrictions, the NCAA has ended up caving when pushed on the matter with every benefit going to the athlete.

Perhaps, softball has been able to hold the line somehow while other sports have not.

Great grab by the staff!

I also wonder where she will fit in. Junior 3B KP hit .320 last year but not a lot of power although showed more this Fall. Only 6 errors in 58 games, very good for 3B. I think she made the Pac 12 All-Freshman team her first year at UCLA, before transferring to A&M. Hitting was off from her year at UCLA but I think that is coming back.

Ariel's stats are a bit better in some categories but they are roughly equal. But starting as a Freshman for a storied program says something in itself!

Ojo will 'probably' be the starting C and the coaches are really high on her, much of it because of her experience. That really came out in the recent video about the team - Coach Ford loves her leadership qualities. She does have power. Freshman C DeeDee was outstanding in HS, 5A All-State with a LOT of power.

Having tough competition is always good for the team. Pushes the girls to get better every day.

I have no idea if she will be available in the Spring.

I am really, really looking forward to the first game on Feb 6 !!!

Starting 3B @ Florida
.308
8 Homeruns
33 RBI's
36 Runs

Gamechanger, this team was already absolutely loaded and added this piece for the Softball Season

Where she plays will be interesting, but what a get for Ford & Staff

3B/1st/C all of these could happen but what a great piece to add even if she has to sit out, stinks for her but her decision and I'll take it
Hard Work, God 1st
