As far I have seen Texas has not announced anyone from the portal.

Tech and OU have the biggest payrolls available so not surprised

For A&M Addison Amaral seems to be a more sought after target than Mia Williams. She is still available.

Addisen Fisher to me was the better UCLA prospect but she is from Oregon and I kind of expect her to land there.

Taylor Pannel the closer from Mizzou was an early A&M target and is still on the board


I thought maybe Desirae Spearman would be on our target list as an outfielder but looks like ASU and Texas lead for her.

No indication that a&m has offered Brooke Wells but with Amari leaving that would be a good pickup of Texas kid

Of the players who are now out of play Berzon I think is the only one we were after.

I would like to see a gif appear soon on Ford's social media though. Maybe just because the season ended earlier than expected but this portal class seems slow to commit

Thanks for your post….my bad I mention portal only…intended to mean overall recruiting efforts. tu has 7 recruits/commits, all from the high school ranks…all ranked 4-star. OU has 6 recruits….5 are 5-star, only 1 is a 4-star….Tech cherry picking only players who meet their needs….
I just wish I was hearing more from T. Ford…..we seem incredibly slow out of the blocks…..

If you are bankrolling your NIL with a mega donors pocket book, the deals needed to be signed before the house approval was handed down and then paid before July 1 or they face clearing house scrutiny.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were a few back dated contracts, but Tech is probably near the end of their portal purchases.

My guess is we probably weren't doing a lot of straight up buying softball players with collective money, so maybe less of a rush on the players part to get the deal done already.

I am so anxious to see who we get from the portal. I live in Lubbock and have witnessed several recruitment meetings when I'm out eating. Not encouraging to see all the big names Tech is landing

Tech was executing an intentional walk away from winning the NC just last week.

You realize OU pays the most of any team out there.

Would you rather Canady had just ended up at OU so they could have won their 5th in a row?

Also our softball coach in her last TexAgs interview asked for anyone willing to help with NIL, please contact her.

So it's not like our coach would not spend to get players if given the chance.

I don't think that will get it done next year. Need a frontline ace or one of the Sydneys to make great strides in the offseason.

I mean its clear softball is not going to be a top priority at A&M money wise but you have to remember tech is benefiting from its top donors and newly minted billionaires being married to former tech softball players, That is why they are spending the money. Given their personal love for it, right now a couple of million will buy you a national title in softballl, so it is worth it for them.

I think Ford will have us a national seed most years but we are not spending a million or millions on our roster. Id be surprised if it is more than a couple of hundred thousand (if that much). It would be great if we had the equivalent of the tech donors who love softball enough to drop a couple of million on it, but as of now we do not.

Maybe one of our former players can marry a billionaire.

It will be interesting to see how the house clearing house changes things. Pretty hard to justify $1 mil deal for a softball player based on "market value". Probably a bit challenging to find enough businesses to pay their players to that level. It is likely their last real shot to just buy a natty.

Unless the donor has enough sway in the AD to divert some "revenue share" from football to softball, but ~2 mil is 10% of their cap.

I'm not saying schools aren't going to find a way to stretch "market value" but most programs are folding their collectives or absorbing into the AD and the good ones are going to focus on finding corporate deals for their athletes.

Gig em, I live in Ransom, and although it's fun to see Techs success, I wish our Aggies would do more. I was rooting for Tech hard once our girls lost to Liberty. I see Aggie gear from time to time when I'm out and about. Love it too. My daughter always wears her Aggie stuff to school. She's outnumbered, but not undaunted. Cheers

I apologize if i missed it, (and I looked yesterday on D1 transfer page) but has Amari chosen another school? Hopefully, with all the movement at tceh and ou perhaps she might be more comfortable staying here, get her degree and then follow Andy as he is playing in a pro league south of the US.
