You're right that Wayne probably deserved to leave on his own terms, but his last few years were much like Turgeon's at A&M in the sense that the program trendline in terms of talent and morale was clearly downward. 2016-2018 were my school years at Rice so I watched it up close.
Bragga might've failed miserably anyway but he didn't take over 2014 Rice.
Hopefully they start fresh after this year and go back to making these A&M-Rice games more fun. For tonight, I'd expect A&M to put up double digits. Rice doesn't hit all that much, doesn't pitch well particularly out of the pen, and doesn't play good defense.
