People always criticize opposing coaches for this. But it works and wins them games. For Augie, it won him a championship at tu and he had a lot of success there. Heck, Wacha threw in 2011 on short rest in game 7 for us.

We can be self righteous about it all we want, I guess.

Schloss's TCU teams were smaller and fast and they would put pressure on a defense. They are still doing it. He hasn't tried to mold this program into that yet. Very surprised that there isn't any of that on this team. Especially the inability to bunt. In close games you have to have a plan b. This is very similar to RC" approach.

Now we are in game 7 of a regional elimination game facing the no 8 national seeds ace in the 8th inning.

But early in the season ranked #5 so it all depends on your perspective I guess.
It always amazes me how much some emphasize the preseason polls usually put together by three or four guys. I was actually surprised how high we were ranked in these polls considering how much we lost from the CWS team.

This is year two under Schloss, if you told me the day he hired we would make it to Omaha one of his first two seasons and a Regional Final in the other, I'd be thrilled with no questions asked.
