if the offense loses both Shewmake and Blaum --- it's a total, total rebuild of the batting order for 2020
I went by what the 12thman.com site listed him as which is a junior.Hop said:
Why is Blaum listed as a junior? He played his freshman year at Ole Miss. Redshirted last season during his transfer year, and played this year.
Shouldn't he be a draft eligible sophomore? What am I missing because A&M lists him as a junior.
Yeah, I think that is an error. If you go to the bio on 12thman.com it shows he played as a freshman at Ole Miss and then sat out last year. He can count that as a redshirt year. I'm just curious if there's something else going on that he couldn't use a redshirt last year.Mr.Ackar07 said:I went by what the 12thman.com site listed him as which is a junior.Hop said:

Your point is duly noted on the leverage issue, but Luke Anders didn't help his cause by hitting .210 his senior year.TXAGBQ76 said:
As a junior has some leverage, as a senior you have zero leverage and are pretty much forced to take whatever low ball offer they take.
I can't remember the year or name, but he played first base. His life long favorite team the Yankees drafted him. They offered a $500K signing bonus, he wanted closer to $1M. He elected to stay and play with his JUCO brother.
Senior year came, he was drafted again and was forced to sign for well under $100K. His signing bonus did not cover his $90K in student loans and his new truck cost.

I'm thinking today may be pretty quiet. Outside of Kalich, no one on the current team should go today. Outside of Brown and maybe Britt, I think most of the recruits are done unless they just want to start their pro career as soon as possible. If signability is questionable, the recruits won't be called until tomorrow when not signing does not cause a team to lose slot money.Aggie1205 said:
The next players to look for are probably Brown and Kalich.
If they're drafting him in the 4th they probably have a good idea of what it will take to sign him.Wicked Good Ag said:
Kalich has some good leverage as a draft eligible sophomore so whoever drafts him probably won't be able to do so much below or even below slot.

With no outside opinions, I would have guessed round 4.Tex100 said:
Since he first hit in the three hole for the Aggies, Braden Shewmake has been a consensus top collegiate prospect for the 2019 draft. He has done nothing to disprove that notion this year and is seen as a late first round pick.
Is Shewmake really a first round pick?
