That Texas is advancing to a Super Regional.
I've watched them all season long, and they have stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way through.
What really angers me about our situation is the relative lack of giving a damn that I viewed from our team.

that's the advantage of being the #1 seed.

Texas Southern was awful. The horns basically got a bye in the first game. And that helped their pitching considerably for the next 2 games.

also check minus for both the A&M and IU coaching staffs. They knew Clemens was the horns' hitting star...and they both let him beat them

You should probably call in sick and sleep it off. We were a bubble team and the 11 seed in our own tourney. The sips were 1 in theirs.

We could and maybe should have won, but we didn't. That's life.

That being said, I wouldn't trade places with them at all. They can kiss taint.

Totally agree! It kills me knowing we have the better team but are staying home for the supers while the whorns advance. That team would have finished dead last in the SEC but somehow gets rewarded for winning a watered down conference championship and getting to host

We weren't the best team in the regional. Our #2 was lit up by Texas and our game 3 starter didn't get out of the 1st inning against the 5th place Big Ten team.

Our pitching was still in pretty good shape going into today, and we couldn't even get by Indiana to set up the rematch with Texas.

im not a fan of childress but his response to the clemens asshat was one that i couldnt agree with more. 'you dont like them celebrating, make a better pitch', or something to that effect. we did nothing to shut them up and deserve to be tormented

Have you not watched any baseball this year? We were the best team in that regional and it's not even close. We just beat Auburn, Georgia and Vanderbilt a week before but can't beat a piss poor sip team and a middle of the pack big 10 team? The team was disappointed being a 3 seed and played like it

Our team has been better all season long! Do you not get that? Hell we beat the whorns during the regular season but get screwed by the committee and get sent to that hell hole for the regional. We beat them 9/10 times at a neutral site and you can't tell me otherwise

The best baseball team we ever had was the '89 team, and they lost to LSU at home or they would have advanced to Omaha. Overall, our program does welll (we have been to Omaha a few times) but the most aggravating moments are when we have something right in our hands and...drop the ball.

Oh well. On to next season.
Peace for Ukraine!

Looked like the same inconsistent team we saw all conference play. It was a nice run in the tourney just to get in but we were a 3 seed for a reason. All that sec chest beating amounted to little when it was on the line against and in state team. After that they seemed a little broken.

This. We didn't get it done in SEC play, which nearly kept us out of the tournament, and gave Texas a huge advantage. I would agree that if we played our A game, and Texas played theirs, we'd come out on top, but the problem is we rarely played our A game. If you graded this team game by game, I don't think we'd average better than a C.

We are going to have some real talent next year. For me, what I want to see is the team eliminate the F games, minimize the C's, and reliably put out at least a B+ game. If we do that in the regular season, we will put ourselves in a position to succeed rather than having to beat the odds

We came into the year expecting Dox to be our ace, but coming out of Fall ball, he wasn't even in the rotation. At the end of the year, we saw performances from Dox which justified those expectations. If we'd gotten those performances all year, we would have been hosting a regional. If Childress wants to maintain his reputation as a pitching guru, then he needs to have Dox performing at that level right out of the gate next season. It's past time that we had a real Friday night ace. We need to see Lacy continue to progress (not getting him a chance to pitch in the regional was a big disappointment from the standpoint of seeing if he could duplicate his last start). We also need to see Conlon turn that potential that got him drafted high into some results. Pitching had better be a strength for this team next year.

As to the position players, whatever we are doing isn't working. There are some pieces to put together, but I don't have a lot of confidence that this staff will do it. Is Janca going from a Cape All Star to struggling with the Mendoza line all on George? Is Coleman batting .250 a coincidence? I think Shew's sophomore slump (that's probably a little harsh) is as much attributable to the lack of production from the rest of the lineup as it is to pitchers figuring him out. Basically, the results at the plate this year were abysmal. Even if our pitching plays up to expectations next year, a repeat performance offensively would leave us vulnerable to losing series that we ought to win.

I don't get why some of you set yourself up for so much letdown. This team has been underwhelming all season. I'm not sure why this regional result would be surprising.

A&M was ranked #10 preseason by D1 Baseball.

so it wasn't just the fans that had high expectations for this team

also...looking back at the regular season...we can see how the Ags got themselves into this spot as the #3 seed in Austin.

losing the Tennessee rubber game and the Ole Miss rubber game were the killers. Win those 2 games instead and the postseason might have turned out much differently.

that's why the regular season is important. Not going to get a postseason draw like 2017 every year. That was a once-in-a-decade phenomenon

LOL....you got your asses handed to you in the regional and your falling back to a one run midweek home win against our fifth starter. Horns won the one that mattered.

Yeah win those two games and we are the two seed in Austin which means we would be the visitors against Indiana the second time and we score 9 runs in the top of the first and hang on to win

I am no scout, but I can read the stats. The stats say this team should have been good enough to make a super:

-2 good starting pitchers
-A very good closer
-Several other reliable RPs
-Above average offense

It did not because of either terrible luck and/or mental weakness.

While I am not disagreeing with you the twobstarting pitchers have to perform to make it out of regionals. Two of the three didn't at all
Just ask Clemson and NC State the same thing.
