A&M looks to make its first trip to Omaha since 2011...and clinch the trip in front of the home fans for the first time in 18 years (1999).
this would also be the first CWS since the construction of Blue Bell Park. And the program's 6th overall CWS.
Childress can tie MJ for most CWS appearances by an A&M coach.
and the program can get to Omaha for the first time with a team that did not win the regular season conference championship. The Ags finished tied for 7th place in the SEC standings

I would also imagine that this would be the first A&M team to reach Omaha...that was unranked for long stretches of the season.
the Ags were only in Baseball America's top 25 for 8 of their 15 weekly polls. And only twice got inside the top 20. Peaking at #16
