Yes, but instead of throwing to short at 2nd, he just waited to tag on the baseline.

Yes, but he fielded it in the middle of the basepath facing first. He'd have had to turn completely around and throw to second to get the force. Blake made him "chase" to make the tag, allowing Homan to reach first safely. Heads up play.

He stopped and forced the 2nd baseman to tag him instead of running into an easy double play. We haven't had many good baserunning moments this year, so it was nice to see.
