No two events can happen at the exact same point in time. It's not a matter of what I think.

Soccer, hockey, football and basketball aren't even analogous as they don't take the measurement at a point in time. They look at if an event happens at all (does the player touch out of bounds?).
Tennis uses clay displacement to judge impacts, but I'm not familiar with the verbiage of the in/out rules.
quote:For someone who decided not to get into quantums, you sure are trying to get into relativity, and misunderstanding its implications at that. Nothing precludes events happening at the exact same time, its just at how many decimal points of a second do you require"same time"?quote:

Can we at last agree that the rule that if a team hits a ball that is close to fair or foul, and one can't visibly see chalk on replays, and its against an SEC team, the ball must be ruled foul is not in the book and agree to disagree on the rest?
quote:Actually, no. It wasn't about the rulebook. That was you. For me, it was about what I saw on the replay which was the ball seemingly hitting the foul line.
I know. This thread was better before people tried to justify a poor use of replay with things that aren't rules.

Nothing interesting has happened yet today. Game starts in 10 minutes.
quote:As I said in my first 10 posts (hyperbole), from a camera on the opposite side of the field, so that foul territory was further away than fair territory, the ball cuts into the view of the the foul line as it hits the ground and begins to bounce.
What makes you think it hit the foul line before touching foul territory?
quote:Not kicking up a cloud of chalk doesn't make it a foul ball. Especially when you're looking at from a camera 300+ feet away.
As the rules of baseball go. That does not make it a fair ball.

Tech leads the Gators. Will the mighty SEC be eliminated thrice by the Big 12?
