It sounds like nobody wants the berm seating (I sure as heck don't). It also sounds like people would prefer to be in GA instead of reserved seating. Is cost the main reason behind wanting to get GA tickets? For me, the number one factor is atmosphere, not cost.

While I agree that the ticket prices are high enough already, I'd be willing go with charging different prices to students and former students for 201-204 seating. In other words, if a student wants a ticket in 201-204, it's one price. If it's a GA ticket, it's a few bucks extra.

Part of that for me is that I'm driving in from Austin. If I want to come to a game, the difference of a few dollars in ticket prices isn't going to deter me. I can definitely see how it would make people who normally go to 20+ games want to go to significantly less, but if I'm only going to 2-3 a year then it's not a big deal for me.

Read the thread. This is not about cost.

COST HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT! ARGGGG!

I'LL PAY 3X THE PRICE OF WHAT STUDENTS PAY BUT BY GOD I WANT TO SIT IN THE GENERAL ADMISSION SECTION.

Just got off phone with TMF, told no GA and all other seats sold out.

SRO would be available tonight and tomorrow for $10/person.

At least that was what I was giving via telephone at 10:10am this morning.

Why is it hard to understand that people like to sit in General Admission with the students and be a part of the Raggies and Olsen Field Magic?

This is the 12th Man Foundation's confusion. The regulars aren't sitting with the students. And the students aren't sitting with the regulars. Both groups blended equally into GA to make the Olsen atmosphere.

wern't student prices always cheaper anyway? for opening weekend students w/o sports pass are $7, student guest are $10, berm is $10, reserved upper was $11... after this weekend everything is $2 cheaper
it's not really a price issue for GA vs reserved the diff is only $1, unless you have kids under 2 or hope they run the buy an adult ticket get multiple kids into ga for free promotions like they have in the past.

Yep. That strategy already exists.

Do they allow outside food and drink on the berm? Seems like if they put the students in 201-204, move GA to the berm, and then let the GA's tailgate on the berm, it would quickly become the place to be. I have no doubt that the crazy Olsen regulars could make the berm into a fun place if AggieTickets takes a dump on 20 years of Olsen Magic...

No, they don't. You will sit/stand there without question. And you will like it.

"Tailgate" was the wrong word. "Picnic" might be better. Hell, at the ballpark in arlington you can bring hotdogs and a drinks if you sit out in the bleachers. Not too shabby at all.

Of course, baseball goes better with some beverages as opposed to others.

THIS IS ****ING BULL****. ALL ALONG THEY PREACHED CHANGING OLSEN WONT MATTER IN THE ATMOSPHERE, 201-204 IS THE OLSEN ATMOSPHERE.

They should just open up the student section to GA at some designated point before first pitch. Like 20 minutes before first pitch, open up GA.

Why on earth would they want empty sections behind the 1st base dugout?? This has to be a fluid policy that will change once demand drops.

If this doesn't change after opening weekend, I fear there's only a handful of ways to get it to change.

Honestly, if everyone (including students) just went and sat on the berm for a few games, leaving the "student section" empty, they would change their mind on the student section pretty quickly.

they can call it whatever kind of policy they want to but it was unnecessary in the first place. it seems the vast majority of the posters on this board whether they be current students, former students or season ticket holders think the policy is a pile of crap. clearly the powers at be are not paying attention.

Completely stupid decision when you factor in the playground for the kids and having the kids play on the berm. My kids will want to go play on the playground and then maybe want to hang around on the berm for a little bit. My son, especially, is not one to be able to just sit in a seat for 2.5-3 hours. So I have no idea how much time I will spend in my actual seat when my kids are with me, but I'm forced to buy a reserved ticket? How about the sensible thing and let me see if there is room in the GA seating area after letting my kids play, and if there isn't then we'll go over to the berm if need be.

THIS x 100,000.

One day of this and they'd post a notice that policy has changed. Rick is gonna be on our side and if he publicly announces what is going on. It'll be a rocky weekend for the 12th man ticket office.

The other thing we all do is go buy a GA ticket, and try to sit in our section.

Then if we get told no you have to sit on the berm, demand a refund.

this. make them understand our displeasure by trying to sit where we ought to be able to, and when they say no, demand a refund.

I think the policy will change

there are 8 home games during Spring Break including a Wednesday afternoon game. Obviously student attendance will be low. As in less than 200

It will be nice to see actual students on the front rows getting into olsen magic instead of letting 30 year olds dictate what and when to yell while dancing around to every walk up song.

Not sure if serious.

I am a current student, and I see nothing wrong with it. Nobody is stopping anyone from showing up early to get a good seat.
