Trust me on this.
Whoever we hire will be the darling of the press conference but will be underwhelming at best. We are fast becoming Nebraska of the south in all sports....a freaking doormat.
The revolving door with coaches, presidents, and athletic directors should be obvious to everyone of the culture problem that exists at Texas A&M. Its hard to be this inept without trying to be. **** us!!!!
NOW it's officially official. C'ya, Buzz. Leave the keys on your desk on the way out.jrdaustin said:
It's unofficially official. Announcement expected later today.
That said, I find myself feeling relieved that it is turning out this way. I was getting an uneasy feeling that if Buzz stuck around for another year, it wouldn't be a pleasant one - for him or the Ags.
Now I'm excited for the future of Aggie Basketball.
I want a coach who wants to be here. That was no longer Buzz. This was his choice, and he made it all on his own.Nom de Plume said:Yep.Sgt. Schultz said:

Which always makes me question why folks here want to fire everyone so we can hire the #1 coach in the nation. That's not how this works. Now we're setup for a rebuilding couple of years with an up-and-coming mid major coach. You think that's going to be better than the last few years?

Flame away. Good seasons but he fell short. Time for a change in my opinion.
He left because of Alberts. Nobody wants to coach under Alberts. Except football.
Lol. Buzz was getting fired next year for sucking here. FohAngryAG said:justsomeguy said:

We literally just saved like $10 million in buyout money given we'd fire him next year, and you're bleeding. Loldtk9119 said:
Gotta love that ROI A&M athletics continues to get on it's coaches. Paper tigers that can only get to a certain point then leave. And then the coaches we want gone like the WBB and soccer coach are kept on well past their usefulness.
Good luck fitting in at that College Park culture Buzz.

This was supposed to be his year. Scared of this new SEC.
Literally all of his teams peaked in March except this one lol. At least be rightMidnight Yale said:
Good riddance. The last handful of Aggie MBB teams have been old and mostly untalented, who peak in January and are in near free-fall by March. This is a team that went 3-6 in its last nine games -- we beat Yale (midmajor that I won't dog too much -- username checks out), LSU (worst in the SEC), and Auburn (caught napping before their final 4 run).
Thankful for his service and for some decent seasons, but I'm sick of A&M paying him top 10 money to never make the second weekend in his 6 seasons here. We can do better!

That was always why I scratched my head when people said, "Kennedy only went to 2 Sweet Sixteens because he had some NBA guys". Yes, he did. He recruited those guys to come here and developed them.discobrob said:
Coaches recruit and develop those players. If it's a consistent problem, the buck stops with the head man.

I don't think he is realy gone. This is likely fake news.
