Doesn't get along with Larry Williams the AD. Behing a small catholic school brings issues. Is from Texas as is his wife. The school has asked him to not relay on Juco kids, Juco gets are near and dear to Buzzes heart and being asked to do this has rubbed him wrong. Recruting kids from tough back grounds has been frowned upon. While Buzz is a Christian he also runs tough practice laced with major profanity. These Catholics turn their head because he wins, but he is a bit to rough for them.

I have heard that he's pretty rough. I suppose working for Billy was either a match made in Heaven or hell for them.

I'd say wins/losses are almost all that matter. Some big jerks have had pretty long careers because they win, while plenty of nice guys find themselves in the unemployment line because they don't.

I could totally see some of the donors, like the ones who paid for the training center, being more than a little annoyed at the downward spiral of the basketball program, no matter how nice BK is.

And no matter how nice BK is, it can be argued that he is bad for the bottom line for A&M basketball because of how attendance has plummeted since he arrived.

If somebody is under performing in their job, I agree with others that they have to be accountable regardless of their personality.

However, it does seem like a jerk will often get a shorter leash and fewer chances than somebody who generally plays wells with others. In any type of business, not just the sports business.

I hope and suspect this will all be moot. I think we're in for a fun season. Much better than running the shot clock to 3 and jacking up a desperation.

What I saw from Space, Shawn and Fitzgerald has me fired up about this team. Get Reese going, Caruso being Caruso and Fabyon shooting the high percentage jumpers, and it'll be a fun year.

I'll make the call now. We will struggle some against Buffalo but grind one out. And this team will improve every week. Tournament bubble and NIT lock.

Worried about the defense.

Which is pretty much unacceptable. A bunch of people are trying to portray Buffalo as a better team than it is with a rookie coach in his very first game as the HC.

Since jorts is promoting this concept, it apparently is being spun from inside the program to lower our expectations.

Due to the number of new players I would guess around the start of conference play. But again, as long as we keep winning and the team is improving then what does it matter how we look or how much we won by?

You're right, Lover. We have seen zero, zilch, nada from this team since Kennedy's been here. Nothing to generate excitement or any semblance of a well coached team, but.....

Wouldn't it be awesome if we could go into Rupp Arena this year and wallop Kentucky in front of their home crowd? Maybe even throw in a few late game dunks to accentuate the point!!

That would get me fired up about Kennedy and team. Heck just beat a ranked team at home or at the very least some tourney teams and I would get fired up!!

Marquette has been really successful with JUCO's in the past. See D-Wade and their final four appearance with a married with kids JUCO player.

Agreed, and I've been told the Marquette powers want Buzz to recruit less Jucos. This has been a major problem between Buzz and his bosses.

I would have loved to see the school bring in a good offensive coach to teach and install a offense. While we rarely play defense, I don't think Kennedy is unable to teach it unlike offense, I just think he is unwilling or unable to demand it like Gillispie would. His offense is insane and will never work unless he starts bringing in Kentucky type talent, which isn't happening.

I can understand Kennedy not having a high major offense going into his first season, but not spending the offseason to learn or bring in a high major offense his second season was lazy and crazy.

Gillispie didn't run some sort of crazy complicated offense. It was a nice flowing 2/3 setup with plenty of movement and passing.

Ok, so clue me in ... what exactly IS BK's offense? All I can really see is a roll-it-out-and-play, Tom Penders kind of offense. At least I could see what Turgeon was trying to do ... BKs offense is unrecognizable to me.

People complained about Turgeon's motionless motion offense. And while it could be ugly and lacked snap and movement. Turgeon did a pretty good job of getting the ball into his scorers hands on clearouts and screens. Turgeon also did a much better job of posting up the bigs. I'm not saying we currently have high level post players, but when you basically ignore them they struggle when given a chance. And when we do post them up we don't set it up as good as Turgeon would. Turgeon did a better job spreading things out and getting the bigs in the right place, and doing things to get them the ball.

Turge gets bigs in the low and high post open for scoring opportunities. His MD destroyed Duke without Ryan Kelly last season getting the ball to Len.

Honestly, A&M has to decide if they want to build a program or not. If they do, throw the checkbook at someone like Buzz.

If BK makes post-season (NIT or NCAA) then he and most of the core of the current team will definitely be back next year.

And are we not supposed to start 'meltdown' posts AFTER A LOSS, not before a big game?

This team is not making the postseason unless it has a drastic turnaround. I wouldn't hold your breath.

no chance at postseason now. Absolutely none.

Eh, we aren't mathematically eliminated from the NIT, but we are a good but behind right now. We are going to need to win 11-12 in SEC play to even make that tournament and the odds of that are in the 20% range IMO.

We need to win 15 to make the NCAA tournament. No realistic way we win that many with this limp offense.
