We were always in a position to win. Lack of player performance from time to time rates them a C-.

We may have had great talent... Even Top 3 talent... but when you have players consistently missing dunks and layups... That isn't coaching... that is on the player. We beat KU today, if our players didn't play soft, and without focus.

Turning the ball over because of a lazy in-bounds under our bucket... Poor shooting...

Maybe the players haven't fully bought in to Turge's system, but that doesn't mean he is a poor coach. There were a number of players this season who have been solid disappointments, whom I'd consider veterans. And it wasn't because they were out of position, or over matched... It is missing open jumpers 10' away.

We've had a solid season so far... 22 Wins, and against pretty decent teams... We win 2 in the BXII, and another in the NCAA, and we'll be a 25 Win team, with a new coach.

That's revisionist history if I've ever heard it. In Watkins pathetic final season, we only lost by 15 or more 4 times & none of those were at home.

There's no way in hell Turgeon gets anything over a C after that display in Norman.

The dude didn't adjust his system to his talent, so if he can't recruit his exact players, then he won't win. That is just an average coach.

Why, with 22 wins?

1) Wasted half the OOC trying to force DK into the PG spot
2) No developmental PT for Holmes during blowouts in the OOC schedule
3) Innumerable media gaffes
4) Repeatedly throwing the players under the bus publicly
5) Writing Jones out of the offense ... 4th leading scorer in A&M history.
6) Failing to emphasize an already very good defense
7) Not adjusting his offensive schemes to match the personnel

There are others, but these are the biggies.

Blowout losses.
4 home losses (3 to mediocre teams)
Ineptitude on offense (long scoring droughts)
Whining to the media about "no win situations" and other such comments.

you make it sound like we should fire him right now, but sadly, it is all true. The only bigger disappointment for the 2008 A&M basketball season than Turge was Josh Carter.

Josh vanished ... we can only speculate as to why.

Low C because of regression through the last half of the season. Reversed it would have been a low B. We were 15-1 and finished with I believe only 22 wins. Not good. If I was the AD and could get the right guy I would pull the trigger now.

defense has regressed (for all but 2 or 3 games).
bad publicity for terrible comments
unemotional coaching (this wouldn't be an issue, but he looked lost out there - i call this the fran syndrome)
