We're heading on vacation with grown kids and grandkids. We'll eat a good breakfast and dinner but tend to just snack during the day. Between SAMs, Costco and HEB there are so many great looking dips. What are y'all's favorites?

Off brand bean dip rules!
here is what we usually go with - some appeals to the kids, some to the adults. BTW - we only shop at HEB
HEB brisket queso
hummus (any brand they all taste the same to me)
Kylito's mild salsa - pretty mild and not chunky
HEB mi tienda salsa verde con aguacate (usually in dairy, not in deli section)
HEB mi tienda tomatillo salsa
Taco Deli Salsa Roja

I don't know if they sell it year round or just during the Thanksgiving/Christmas season, but Costco's Cranberry Jalapeno dip is really good.
HEB has a pickle and ranch dip and with Ruffles or crackers its pretty good.
Plain Greek yogurt and Lipton Onion Soup mix + Ruffles is super easy.

Central Market brand hatch green chile hummus
I forget the actual name but in HEB's deli area there is something along the lines of a southwestern ranch dip that is great. I believe it's an HEB brand.

Costcos spinach artichoke dip, their queso too
Trader Joe's pimento cheese is excellent as is their onion dip.

If there is going to be a lot of snacking in the vehicle, then you might consider some of that processed cheese spread sold in a pressurized can, depending on age of kids. This stuff eaten on crackers is not bad, and it's less messy than some dips. Different flavors with a variety of cracker types makes for a good variety.
Any answer from a Texan that does not include Fritos, Bean Dip and a Dr Pepper is just wrong. 
Sodium citrate + water + cheese of your choosing + spices + chorizo. Not store bought, but easily customizable.

HEB spicy guac is legit. I don't know how many I have eaten. Goes pretty quick in the fridge if you don't get it eaten.

By far HEB's best dip
HEB jalapeno pimento cheese and Fritos is my favorite. Bean dip and Fritos. Miiller's Fiesta Verde dip in Llano. Julio's queso and Julio's chips is a good easy one too.
have y'all had the julio's red bag chips? holy crap those things are spicy. good...but spicy.

If that's the one I had a few weeks ago they were so hot they were inedible. And I can handle serious heat. Granted, I was just eating them plain with no dip. Maybe some queso would have helped but damn they were hot. Julio makes top notch chips and dip. They used to have a brick & mortar taco shop with fantastic breakfast burritos in San Angelo.
those are the ones. great way to curtail chip overconsumption.

Julios salsa is full of MSG.
There are some great suggestions here. I'll add this, Sam's Club has a great queso dip....

If you travel to Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas look for any dip made by Anderson Erickson Dairy, but particularly their mexican dip. They've been doing it right for a LONG time-I used to crave it on family trips to visit the Grandparents in DesMoines when I was young-now I'm 57 and any time we travel to that area we make sure to pick some up. Got the wife to try it 15 years ago, and she is just as big a fan as I am!

So? It's just an old wives tale that MSG is bad for you.
El Arroyo hot salsa at HEB is my favorite.
