Looking for a good slow cooker mac & cheese recipe

Ok I'll ask. What's the point of a "slow cooker" for this? Presumably you're still doing all the steps for normal mac and cheese except you want it to taste worse?
I don't understand the point of this. You can make Mac n cheese on the stovetop in half an hour. If you're wanting a crispy top, put it in a pan and under a broiler for a few minutes.

My guess is that you could dump ingredients and dry pasta and hope you could time out the noodles being done when liquids have all absorbed. The most likely thing would be pasta turns to mush by the time it's ready to eat.
Cracker Barrel is the best box imo. I'd just use that if pressed for time. Toss some shredded cheddar on top if you want to fancy it up
Won't be at home and was looking to just throw everything into the slow cooker instead of trying to cook at someone else's home. I could make it ahead of time but I won't be able to make it that morning and I prefer to serve something fresh instead of leftovers from the previous day.
Making it ahead then heating it in the oven will be a lot better than anything from a crock pot

How long do you want to ignore this user?
You can also cook the pasta ahead of time, and make the cheese sauce there. Melt some Velveeta with some milk, toss in the pasta, and you're done. I know you said you didn't want to cook there, but that whole process should take less than 15 minutes. And will be better than anything from a crock pot.
This is a good base recipe imo. Very well suited to making ahead then topping with cheese and heating to serve
