Found yellow bird jalapeo, Serrano, and habanero at the Walmart neighborhood grocery in Allen.

Not a fan of the jalapeo (too sweet). Habanero is good, Serrano in between. I wish they didn't have any sugar. Like my pickles, I want vinegar, salt, and spice (and heat for sauce).

I looked for yellow bird at HEB and didn't see it. Will try Walmart or the neighborhood Walmart closest to me!

I'm surprised y'all can't find it everywhere in Texas. There's a place in here in Springfield, MO that sells it.

Nobody has mentioned Bravado? I have 4 of theirs in my fridge right now and love them all.

Never had that serrano and basil one, but I've currently got the other 4 on hand. I'm waiting to find the carolina reaper and garlic one thats new.

Just ordered a 12 pack of this, as the HEB near me stopped carrying it... I have a variety of other stuff, but this is all I need.

another favorite of mine are the Louisiana Brand flavors. I used to be able to get Habanero in Allen, but it disappeared, so I could only buy it when I went to NOLA.

I finally bought the kit seen below from Amazon.

They're all great, but my favorites were roasted pepper and red chili. I use the roasted pepper in bloody mary's (along with the habanero for much added heat), and the red chili as a taco sauce.

Some Wal-Marts have Yellowbird. Also, I always see it at Buc-ee's if you have one close to you.

Had a chance to bust out the Los Calientes from Heatonist. It's pretty good. Very similar to Secret Aardvark. My buddy broke out some Mad Dog 357, doused a wing in it and proceeded to ruin his night. I had a dab of it and it lit me up! That stuff is no joke!

Based on all the recommendations I pulled the trigger on amazon last night and got some yellow bird and secret aardvark.

Picked up the Yellow Bird Habanero. Grabbed the last one from HEB Market Place! Didn't realize they can barely keep these on the shelf!

I finally got around to trying the Humble House Habanero and Aji Amarillo and it's really tasty. It's not very hot and it's a little on the sweet side, but it's f'ing delicious. I tried it on some pizza, but it would probably also taste just fine on ice cream. This one might be my favorite of the Humble House sauces.

They sell it at REI in Salt Lake City of all places. I'm sure they have it somewhere near year. I love yellowbird habanero and serrano.

Other favorite... Melinda's Mango Habanero

Just picked one of these along with some Yellowbird Serrano. Both will be regulars in the lineup going forward.

Oh, and if anyone likes mustard based hot sauces, give this stuff a shot. Excellent for any application that uses mustard (well, I don't know about tater salad, but since the Mad Dog Pure Ghost was outstanding on a baked tater, this might work for a kicked up salad - or on fried sweet taters......damn, I'm gonna get fat again...)

For any Austin area sauceheads, the Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival is on the 26th. It's typically sweltering but good music, people watching, and sauces, for sale and judging.

HEB currently has $2.50 off coupons for Humble House. Not sure if there is a limit, but I got two bottles and used two coupons without a problem.

Their coupons usually just say 1 coupon per item. So it's been unlimited in my experience.

Had some of this in St. Thomas last year and thought it was fantastic. Haven't tried ordering since the hurricane wiped out a lot down there.

I got all 3. The flavor is outstanding, but not enough heat. The ancho one is practically a bbq sauce. The guajillo one has replaced sriracha on my fried eggs.

So, browsing around on the innerwebz, I found a recipe for Freebird's Death Sauce. Inspired me to make my own version. If you love you some heat, give this a shot. If you don't, avoid it as I'm pretty sure it can double as paint remover.

3 cups arbol chiles, stemmed and seeded
1 small package of pequins, whole
3 guajillos, stemmed and seeded
4 chipotles, stemmed and seeded
1 package (about 9) carolina reapers, stemmed
1 tbsp cumin seeds, toasted
1tbsp black peppercorns, toasted
1 heaping tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp sea salt
1 tbsp mesquite honey
2 tbsp blackstrap molasses
2.5 cups white vinegar
1.5 cups water

Pour boiling water over the dried chiles and steep for 20 minutes. Grind the salt, pepper, and cumin seeds into a fine powder.

Drain the chiles and combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Bottle, suffer, and enjoy.

(If this seems a bit much, drop the reapers and use 1 or 2 ghost peppers instead. It needs ghost/scorpion/viper/reaper chiles for the flavor and this recipe makes 4 16 oz bottles, so a ghost or 2 won't be overwhelming.)

I was fine until the Carolina reapers. I like hot food, but I got over the "I have to prove I'm a man by eating something that doesn't really taste good" crap years ago.

But this tastes really good. I mean, there's pain and burning, and sweating (and possible diarrhea later on), but the flavor profile is really, really good. I'm proud of this one.

You had me at "possible diarrhea"
