We ended up only drinking two bottles. I was mainly drinking Irish Whiskey and beer. One of the bottles we had was the Bogle Phantom. A really, really nice blend of Zin, Petite Syrah, and Mourvedre all for $15.

2007 Harris Estate Vineyards - Lakeview Vineyards Cab

Parker gives it 95 points as says it's ready now.

This 2010 Turley cab is smooth.

So I've got a daughter due any day now. I'd like to buy a case or half case of something we can open on her 21st. My folks did the same for me and my brother. I'm thinking bordeaux, but I'd have to wait till 2015 for that. Any other rec's?

First of all, congrats! Second, my reccomendation is Ridge Monte Bello. I bought my son several magnums for when he turns 21, graduates, marries, etc. it's sold as a future so you can buy it now for delivery in 2 years. My winemaker friends tell me it's one of the best aging Cali cabs.

Nice, I only got one of the syrahs since I'm out of space. I did get 4 of the Sauv Blancs since those won't age in my house.

On a similar note, I'll be drinking with Mike in about 3 weeks from today!

That sucks. Those are great wines. I gladly spend a small fortune on those every year. Most are clearing but we did break out 2 of them over Christmas and they were each Wine of the Night at the dinners ('07 Howell Mountain cab and '07 Spring Mountain cab). I'd say the Spring Mountain was my Wine of the Year!!
