I think year 1 was 70, last year 85 or 90 so it's been creeping.

Grabbed a RE Devils Tower batch 2 today, batch 1 was tasty so pleased to get this one.

I hear you. I was being pretty intentional about it since it's my first btac. I let the finish completely die off before taking another sip. Really tried to enjoy the nose a lot because it was pretty great and I normally can't smell notes that well on the nose. It also changed over time as it sat in the glass so that made it worth it.

I decided to try comparing Larceny barrel proof A124 to B524. I have a nearly empty A, and I just opened the B. I'm seeing a lot of Bs on the shelf the last couple months, so wanted to see if it's awesome so I can buy a/some backups.

I did not notice a big difference. They were both pretty good, but neither outshined the other. I'll try it them again later, now that the B is opened and see if it changes after a few days.

I already have a C924 Larceny BP (and C924 Elijah Craig BP) so I don't know when I'll crack those. Haven't heard much feedback on either of those yet.

C924 is solid. Very consistent with the previous releases this year so it won't be much different. A buy at MSRP.

They have to wait for the allocations to hit all stores in all states. BTAC didn't hit Michigan until like February when I asked up there.

Could it be? maybe. it could also be a whole lot of confirmation bias. no two batches will ever be the same but outside of a series of blind tests i'd lean more toward bias and pre-conceived notions affecting the score more than anything. You can't go wrong with RR10, and if you see a bottle with the laser code i see no reason not to buy it.

The glass of the Heart Release i had on Saturday wasn't near as good as the first glass i had prior. Did the whiskey get worse or was losing to LSU shaping my perceptions? All i know is the glass I had in the 4th quarter tasted a hell of a lot better.

Was at the Beam distillery last week and they were on the shelf there. $200. Thought for awhile about getting one but passed. Didn't feel like the price was quite justified based on the reviews. But if you're in KY anytime soon, it's there.

Edit to add, they also had Little Book Infinite, KC 18, Baker's 13, Old Overholt 11, and others. The premium selection at Beam is always exceptional.

You'll be close to 2 hours from most major distilleries. If you're good with a drive I would check out Bardstown.

Been to Bardstown as well. Great place. A bit far from my path this time around. But, what a great bourbon town.
