Hard to see some of the labels but I THINK that's a MM Heart release which has gotten fantastic reviews. Larceny BP is good for the money. Lots of people love McKenna but I don't at $60

The HH grain 2 glass series is good. I'm also partial to the Makers 46 cask strength. Not too rare, but super yummy for the price.

Just finished off a pour of the Jimmy Russell's 70th. I really hope the 8 year becomes a permanent release, it is damn good.

Cracked some good ones tonight for my 2 oldest kids and their spouses.

Then cracked Weller SB.

One stop/tour in each Louisville & Bardstown. What do you choose and why? I'll have my family with me, none of which will be interested in the tour, so something for them to do in close proximity is worth bonus points.

I'd love to get a nice bottle out of it if possible. We did the speakeasy "tour" at Evan Williams with just my wife and I a couple years back and got a nice return.

For Bardstown I think HH probably has the best bottles out though i would personally probably do to Barton.

Not bourbon related - but good nonetheless. (From the Horns Tears thread.)

In Louisville go to Michter's 30 minutes before they open do a chance to do the Fort Nelon fill your own bottle or get a drop of some of their good stuff. It's right on whiskey row they have plenty of shops to check out while you're in line. Their tour isn't great but their bar is cool. Across the street is the Louisville Slugger Factory and that is a must visit even if you aren't a baseball diehard. Tours every 20 minutes and they're short but it's awesome.

In Bardstown I would do Heaven Hill. They have a full your own bottle experience where you taste their three barrel proof offerings and one limited bottle. Could be old Fitz, William heaven hill, heaven hill select, it always changes. For me it was heaven hill select malt whiskey which was excellent. Not really a tour, more just a quick overview of what whiskey is, try the pours, bottle, and you're out. Great pours upstairs if you want to try fancy stuff at the bar.

Thanks. That's kind of what I was leaning towards.

I really enjoyed the Heaven Hill "You Do Bourbon" bottling experience. Tasting higher proof options, then choosing which to bottle. I chose the Elijah Craig BP
option (which is a different, smaller batch than the C924 current release) which was delicious.

You get to bottle it yourself.

You rinse the bottle, fill it, then make the labels

You can't reserve fill your own at Michter's. You have to show up 30 minutes before they open. They do it most days but not every day. They have drops every day though. The Michter's tour isn't worth it. If you're doing a regular tour you're better off doing Old Forester one and then going to the bar to do the flight that has birthday bourbon, 117, and Presidents choice pours.

Ah ok, I booked the regular tour at Michter's. I guess can cancel that then.

lol. Wish we had something similar. Remedy liquor may be the closest here, but not close to that place in offerings.

Michter's BS rye, JDBS Rye store pick, Rebecca Creek final barrel of Spanish Oak store pick, Old Overholt 11 year rye, Sagamore reserve series 9 year rye, emerald giant cask strength, Heaven Hill grain to glass bourbon and rye. I'm a huge rye guy so I was overwhelmed with options.

They also were doing tasting of Old Fitz 10 yr, OFBB, and the full Weller line up
